ALEX (LUCAS) AND SOFIAN (KASIM)

Alex comments on Sofian’s hair, who says he “messed up”, to which Alex tells him that it suits him.

Alex says he’s still assimilating that it’s all over, and that it has been a really intense two years.

Sofian says that even though he wasn’t in the show for that long, he feels like Kasim is a really important character to show to the public, a reference to other arab kids that feel like Kasim.

He also says that some people have written to him thanking him, but that he’s also gotten horrible comments asking him how can he be moorish and a f*g and how is he not ashamed of himself, but he feels that that’s why it’s necessary (a character like Kasim), and that he felt empowered when he read them.

Alex tells him that it’s super gratifying the way people go and talk to them at the end; that even though there will always be haters and people that want them to feel bad, it’s the fact that they helped people, and the way that makes them feel.

Sofian reads a comment that says that Kasim didn’t apologize to Amira, but that he and Hajar get along really well which is the most important thing.

He also says that it would’ve been awesome if Kasim and Lucas got a season for them.

Sofian asks Alex how does he feel after all this time, having the show ended. Alex says that he started making peace with the fact that it was ending when they finished shooting, but that when it started all the emotions came back to him, that he felt that because it hadn’t finished airing he still had that, but since it ended he wonders “what do I have left?”.

Alex answers why “Ramon” didn’t appear until the last minute. He says that in the first season he was mentioned several times, but no one knew who he was, and that he finally appeared at the end and finally had a face. He says it was a joke, and that for him Ramon is the most important character of the entire show. Sofian agrees and says that without him there was no reason for the show. Alex says that without him there would be no show (jokes again, guys).

Someone asks what are the similarities between them and their characters. Alex says that he and Lucas both learned how to evolve quickly after they came out, and that they’re both fighters for their rights, but that Lucas is much more impulsive than Alex. Sofian says that Kasim has much more cheek than him, that he’s cheeky but not that much. Then he and Alex say that people have to understand Kasim’s situation, not being able to come out and have that plenitude.

Alex says that a similarity between Kasim and Sofian is that they’re both very cocky, and that they have the same vibes.

Alex says that the scene he enjoyed the most (to shoot) was when Dounia caught them. Sofian says that his is the one when they’re at the pub.
