"You don't remember me" Kurt speaks after a minute of absolute silence, there's no sadness nor acusation in his voice. I just is "At least not the way I remember you"
Blaine stares blankly at him and even if he'd like to tell this... man that he must be wrong and that Blaine's not the one he's looking for he can't... something tells him he is the one and that this man is someone very important.
"The way I hurt you" Kurt continues a few seconds later "And how I let you down..." His voice fades into a cracked whisper and Blaine strains to hear the last of it though it is more of a mumbled mess than anything else "Things are better now" His voice grows stronger "Better than last time at least"
And Blaine stares because there is nothing more to do, nothing he can do right now because he honestly doesn't know this man that stopped him in his way back home from college he knows nothing about his stylish clothes and perfectly coifed hair, but God does he want to.
Something about this stranger screams familiar at him, it might be the light colored bowtie on his neck so simmilar to one of his owns, or it might be the way he smiles with his entire body even if he is so obviously upset and conflicted right now. Anyway it must be something because even if he had been practically kidnapped and then pushed into a deserted alley he wasn't afraid and the man didn't seem dangerous at all.
"Last... time?" He questioned "What last time?"
"You won't remember" He sighed "But it was pretty bad last time we saw each other, everything was falling to pieces" His voice shook and the sound made something to Blaine's heart.
Out of nowhere he could hear the echo of a soft broken voice calling him, 'Blaine, Blaine' over and over again like a mantra, like a prayer 'I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, please be okay'
"You were injuried and I was scared" He made a pause and breathed in "There was no other way around it I had to let you go, bring you here and make you forget"
Forget what? Blaine wanted to ask but something inside him stopped him somehow he knew he didn't want to know.
"Even now I shouldn't be here it is already too risky but she made me" He chuckled "Can you believe it? she made me come here to see you. Me, bossed around by a girl" He laughed half heartedly knowing that Blaine didn't get the joke "But you don't know. Of course you don't" He murmured almost too quietly.
"Excuse me" Blaine interrupted him "But who are you"
"Ah" The man smiled "The greatest question of all"
"What?"
"I said, the greatest question of all, everyone wants to know it. Except for you"
"But I just--"
"Now you want to know" The man seemed pensive "But before..." He made a vague motion with his hand indicating that a long time had passed "You just never cared. Never asked"
"But..." Blaine prompted once the man fell quiet.
"But I told you" He admitted guiltily "That was my biggest mistake"
"Why?" He had to ask "I can't even remember"
"Exactly"
He spoke the word like it explained everything as if every single secret in the universe was held in it. But it didn't. Blaine still didn't get it.
"I..."
"I should never say my name" He explained "Bad things happen when I do that. And I only ever told you"
"You--?"
"I care about you" The stranger rushed to say "I still do. It's been---" He cut himself off and bit his lip before turning around to stare at the blue wooden box that Blaine hadn't noticed until then and which again gave him that strange feeling in his chest "You have no idea how long it's been" He chuckled tiredly "I--" He sighed and turned to look at the blue box once more "She's waiting. And she's probably watching this whole thing just to make sure I didn't chicken out"
"And she is..."
"A friend" The man answered with a smile "They all are"
"All?"
"The ones that came after you. They were all my friends, no one would ever compare to you"
"I don't understand"
"You don't have to"
"Why?" He had to ask because even if he didn't understand it right now he knew he probably did once.
"Because--"
"Doctor!" A girl's voice interrupted their conversation and the man turned aroud once more towards the blue box, only this time the door was ajar and a red headed girl was standing right beside it "We've only got three more minutes! We've got to go!"
The man, Doctor? murmured something that sounded a little like 'That Amy' but Blaine couldn't be sure not when the man-Doctor- man turned to face him with a beautiful smile and spoke once more with the voice of angels.
Angels. Voice of Angels. For some reason the mere thought of that gave him chills.
"-laine?" He was called out of his thoughts "I said it's time. I'm ready. I'm leaving"
Blaine I'm ready. I'm leaving.
Blaine! Blaine! wake up, please wake up!
It's time. We're leaving.
It's ok, it's ok now. You're gonna be just fine, Blaine. Everything will be alright. Everything's just fine.
"Everything's not fine" Blaine murmured with a soft voice, tears he had not realized were falling staining his face "Everything's not fine,--"
"Don't say it!" The man yelled loudly "Whatever it was you were going to say. Don't say it"
"Kurt" He finished with a smile and the man smiled in kind.
"You don't remember"
"I do. But not everything"
"It's better that way" Th- Kurt smiled again.
"Doctor!" The girl who may or may not be named Amy called again "Once more minute"
"I should go" Kurt turned to walk away.
"Wait!" Blaine called "Will I ever see you again?"
He had the feeling that he had already asked that not once but many times before but the memory seemed so far away like it came from other life or maybe another universe.
"Yeah" Kurt answered still walking towards the box "Maybe next life. Just don't hide this time. It was pretty hard to find you in Ohio and now I just got lucky that Amy" So her name was Amy "brought us here and we found you"
"I- I won't!" He answered maybe a little too enthusiastically.
"Okay" Kurt laughed "Good"
And then he was gone. He got inside the blue box and the next second it was gone.
Blaine smiled and stared at the empty place and the world around him.
Kurt. The Doctor. The Doctor And The TARDIS. The End Of The World.
They were gone now. Just like before. Just like everytime, just like a blond woman with many names would explain to him later when he found her and a strange man that had the same air that Kurt had and he even had an Amy and--- He once had a Blaine, only that time it wasn't a Blaine but a Rose. Someone the Doctor loved but would never be able to have.
