Week 8!
This week was much slower than usual, and I completed office hours 10-5 Monday and Wednesday. We were off on Friday in observance of the holiday. This week we did a lot of cleaning and re organizing. I wrote thank you cards to clients and put together little gift boxes for them. I also sent out birthday cards to club members and anniversary cards to couples that got married in the clubs last year.
I learned how to use the website Social Tables and became very familiar with it. My supervisors used a different program in the past to create floor plans with seating arrangements and to show where the furniture would be placed. I went into Social Tables and re created the layouts on the new program. It took so long because there are so many details. All of the pieces of furniture are measured to scale so we can make sure everything will fit for the events. For example, I will set up tables, chairs, stages, stairs, beverage stations, soft seating clusters, dessert bars, high top tables, etc. on Social Tables. The client can also view this floor plan to make sure everything is accurate. On event days, the supervisors, ISS, Landmark, and 24 Hour Security all have a copy of the floor plan to make sure everyone is on the same page.
A really interesting, do-one-thing-well application that develops seating charts for weddings and other events. $29 and up.
Worth checking out for anything larger than 150 (Dunbar's famous number), where an individual event organizer might not be able to keep track of attendees mentally.
