brother crab's parting thoughts: spring 2026
doing everything in one go because summer really fucking snuck up on me and i am very behind already so i gotta wrap up spring and go catch up
witch hat atelier: it is very good of course no one needs me to tell them that
yomi no tsugai: this is EXTREMELY my jam. asa you dweeby little brocon i love you so much. hana and dera, phenomenal. characters are excellent in typical arakawa fashion
wistoria s2: I NEED S3 RIGHT THE FUCK NOW. wistoria continues to be the most fun shounen of recent years. elfie i'm obsessed with you sorry about your male bride but that was hilarious
marriagetoxin: once again very good of course and no one needs me to tell them that. thrilled to see a second season announced already
nippon sangoku: SHOCKINGLY. ANIME OF THE SEASON. TO ME. i did not think anything would come close to wha but these two are like. neck and neck. they are basically on the same level of masterpiece to me, nippon sangoku with a slight arbitrary edge
haru no mai: listen i know i can't complain because i watched this knowing it is the genre that it is. however. it is far too heterosexual for its own good sorry
dorohedoro s2: STILL ABSOLUTE PEAK delighted by the plot-relevant subaru jumpscare. i'm always tempted to just go ahead and read the manga but i think i will continue to wait
kill blue: i expected nothing, checked it out just because i love knb, and WOW i was very very very pleasantly surprised. really fun and charming, not a must-watch by any means, but i found it really fun and i'm glad it got renewed
liar game: it really takes a while to get going. like it doesn't start off Bad or anything but the games have gotten progressively more interesting and thus more entertaining
akane-banashi: so ummmmm it's a really good sports anime and i'm enjoying it a lot in that regard but the rakugo isn't very good.........
nakamura: delightful. absolutely delightful. as expected
niwatori fighter: well i couldn't not watch the cock fighter show. it was fun! no regrets
my ridiculous reincarnation: alongside kill blue this is one of the BEST surprises of the season. genuinely one of my top... three? maybe? if i disqualify continuations. it is just such a cute and fun story made with such love for all these different forms of animation, legit one of the things i looked forward to most each week
kami no niwatsuki kusunoki-tei: cute and cozy! ultimately not my Favorite in this genre of, like, soft boy + yokai iyashikei. obiously that is forever natsume. but it was still enjoyable, i could use one of these like every two seasons at least
vending machine s3: they have completely sold me on the idea that a girl and a vending machine can fall in love. i'm shocked that this gimmick series got three seasons so quickly AND that they were legit all good. is it a masterpiece no but is it really fun yes absolutely
tadaima, ojamasaremasu: man this show really had fun jerking me around. for a bit it seemed like typical love triangle then seemed like it would go for the ot3 then went back to typical love triangle then back to ot3 potential. by the end of it i don't even care anymore these people all just kind of annoy me now
dandelion: no strong feelings about this one tbh it certainly isn't gintama. in fact it felt more like a sunrise buddy cop show to me, like taibani or double decker, but didn't really have the time to grow into itself. it was alright
kujima utaeba le hororo: i think this is my third pleasant surprise of the season, sometimes what a family (or a whole neighborhood) needs is a big bipedal russian bird to hold them together! and that's beautiful! charming series all around. suguru's arc was the most impactful to me, the drowning imagery at the start of that one episode was like phew. had no right to hit that hard out of nowhere
AND NOW. SUMMER.
