Wei Wuxian was turned enemy against the cultivation world due to his use of resentful energy, an unnatural process which used turning the wills of the dead against the living. Making the deceased already put to rest, unresting and violent, with little means of control other then the man's own power. Not to say that power did much for him in the end, since in reality, he ended up torn apart by his own corpses he was said to be able to control...

13 years later...

A man by the name of Mo Xuanyu, gives up his soul to the Yilling Partitch- (e.i Wei Wuxian. This was the title that Wei Wuxian was called during his time as a "demonic" cultivator. Demonic in terms of harboring resentful energy) in exchange for a revenge. And Wei Wuxian soul actually awakes, now in Mo Xuanyu's body.

Wei Wuxian discovers three cuts on his arm upon waking up in the new body, and discovers that the unwanted sacrifice had suffered abuse at the hands of relatives. Unknowing of the full story, Wei Wuxian takes up the idea that Mo Xuanyu sacrificed his body too him under the guess that he would give revenge to his now, dead soul.

So, Wei Wuxian steals a donkey from nearby tied to a shed, and heads off into the town where Mo Xuanyu lives to find Mo Manor (Note: Mo Xuanyu was not at Mo Manor when the sacrifice happened, he was locked in a small shed, likely do to a punishment)

Around the same time that Wei Wuxian has been reborn though, the Mo family had requested help with a problem of the undead around the town they lived, and two junior disciples (students of a Sect in this case) from the Gusu Lan Sect (you could also call it a Clan but oh welp, this Clan is important so keep the name in mind) arrive at Mo Manor.
