I think I made the jump between “Penny acts that way cause she’s a robot” and “Penny acts that way cause she’s autistic” about the same time I realized that a lot of the cues autistic girls have are cause of relentless bullying into a specific brand of conformity, something that Penny’s father has shielded her from.
