Idk, a lot of this is just me feeling like I'm an unreasonable level of messed up about my aceness (and transness and queerness) for someone who hasn't had any Major Traumatic Events to do with those things? There's something in me that always expects those Bad Things to happen, even with evidence to the contrary

The relationship with trauma is interesting... I feel like there are some thoughts in the back of my brain about, like, indirect trauma, or the trauma that can come from social messages that people like you are wrong, fucked up, or don't exist? Hmm. And the whole savior-of-everything idea is just the flip side of that dehumanizing approach, really. It's another way of not letting us be complex multidimensional people who exist on our own terms.

Yeah, absolutely - I was kind of thinking about this, the sort of generalised trauma stuff of existing and being told you can’t or aren’t or don’t. Or people acknowledging that you are, and shitting on you for it. (But then I decided my post was already too long!)
