Maybe it was selfish of him to have thought they’d be around forever. They had been a constant presence in his life, as it should be, and now there was a likely chance that it’ll never be that way again. James never really thought of it before — them leaving him, that is. They had done such a wonderful job ensuring that he was never heartbroken or wanting for a single thing. Imagining them being gone had never seemed like reality to him, and now... Now the world had gone to shite. Not yet, not completely, but it was on the precipice of change. It had been much easier to face knowing he had his parents and friends in his corner.

Drinking. It’s what happens most nights when she’s left to her own devices. Sometimes there’s music, others just silence. Either way, it keeps her from getting too into her own thoughts and memories. It also helps numb the pain when everything gets to be a bit too much.

M

Memories. A point of contention for Emmeline most days. Some, she prefers to keep buried - figuratively of course, while others are buried more literally in the back of her closet or in old rooms at Gran’s. The good ones, though, are things she likes to look back on fondly, laughing with Alice over pieces of their childhood, or Quidditch games and after parties with friends in school.

Tchaikovsky. The first classical composer Gran taught her to properly play. He holds a special place in her heart, along with Christmas.
