Iāve been snookered!
Iām really behind in times and the real truth of it is I donāt realllllllly pay attention. Iāve watched OUAT for years while it was on and the reruns, and I enjoy tumbler because it still gives me a dose of my gorgeous pirate daily. And Iāve also watched season 7, why wouldnāt I just ācause some actors moved on? Iāve always been curious about the rape comment from the season that always comes across once in a while. Who (allegedly) raped who in that season? āCause I donāt remember anything of the kind happening. Thanks for answering... will I get a short answer or a long rant I wonder. Love you!
Okay, so... first things first! I love you too, Nonny XD
Especially so because I feel absolutely attacked right now, in the best possible way, by "will I get a short answer or a long rantā and Iām over here laughing, because Iād love to be likeĀ āAHA! Iāve got something ELSE for you!!ā but we both know I donāt š And uh oh, weāre already pastĀ āshort answerā and we all know what THAT means...
SO! Season 7. Thereās actually TWO rapes in that season that people talk about... one that kinda sorta unintentionally actually happened and one that absolutely didnāt happen and wouldnāt have happened, but some nutters seem to think it might as well have, because theyāre nutters and I guess thatās what nutters do. (Nutters gotta... nut? Wait, NO, thatās not what I want D:)
The first one is Gothel/Rapunzel allegedlyĀ ārapingā Killian. This oneās kind of tricky, because the scenario is weird and thereās no real world equivalent for what occurred. I mean, yes, she bedded him under false pretenses... but itās not like we can point at real world laws or precedents and be like,Ā āItās illegal in all 50 states to magically transform your physical appearance into someone elseās for means of tricking an individual into having sex with you.ā Magic isnāt real here, so we donāt have precedents or stances on that. However, magic is commonplace in the Enchanted Forest, so youād think thereād be some kind of standing idea on the morality of banging someone whilst magically pretending to look like someone else - yet Killian doesnāt seem all that put out by it. Heās more upset that she tricked him into impregnating her - which is an altogether different subject.
And ultimately... it doesnāt matter that Gothel disguised her appearance. She didnāt pretend to be someone Killian knew. The person she pretended to be was a complete stranger to him, as was Gothel herself. There was absolutely no reason for her to need the ruse in order to get Killian to jump into bed with her. The ONLY part of her facade that assisted her in that was pretending NOT to be the witch atop the tower. But letās be real - Killian was there to get something from the witch in the first place. All Gothel really had to do was be herself and sayĀ āNeat, stay the night, weāll hump like bunnies, and Iāll give you what you want in the morningā and he wouldāve probably been like,Ā āOh, wow, thatās a better deal than I expectedā and get straight to the banging part.
No, the people who were intended to be tricked by Gothelās ruse was the audience. The whole scheme was cooked up by the writers to make the audience go,Ā āOh! Rapunzel is the mother of Hookās daughter!ā and then DUN DUN DUN!!! No, itās actually Mother Gothel!!! With that being the case, the story wasnāt presented to the actors as aĀ ārape story.ā The writers, actors, directors, editors, etc, etc didnāt mean for it to be one, and didnāt create it with that in mind. But the audience looked at it and jumped toĀ āOMG she tricked him into having sex with her, thatās rape!ā And while yeah, technically it is... it wasnāt meant to be. So when the actors (particularly Emma Booth) were questioned about it on social media, they went with what they were TOLD about the scene and how they PLAYED it - which was that yes, she tricked him, but she didnāt rape him. And even the trick was more about her tricking him into instant fatherhood than her tricking him to sleep with her in the first place.
So thatās the one rape youāll hear about in regards to S7. And itās actually part of canon and is a tricky situation that people have differing opinions on and can get kinda heated up about.
The other one never happened at all, but youāll still occasionally run into someone talking about it. The anti-S7 brigade only watched episode 2 of that season and the finale - the episodes Jen took part in. Episode 2 is the one where they reveal that S7ā²s Hook is actually Wish Hook from another realm - and where he reveals that he has a daughter heās trying to reunite with. When he confesses to his failed ruse, he says his plan was to pretend to be Killian, return to Storybrooke as him, and get a True Loveās Kiss from Emma so that he could break the curse on his heart. Some people who arenāt too good with logic twisted his words and claim that his plan was to take Killianās place permanently. This would mean staying in Storybrooke and staying with Emma - and, presumably, having sex with her as married couples do. In other words, having sex with her under false pretenses.
Now, anyone who actually paid attention to the episode or anything about Wish Hookās storyline knows thatās bullshit. The entire purpose of his plan was to cure his poisoned heart curse so he could reunite with Alice. He canāt reunite with Alice if heās living in Storybrooke and schtupping a chick he only ever met once when he was drunk and fat and she threw him across a clearing. It just simply doesnāt make sense. His plan was to get that True Loveās Kiss and go find Alice. Thereās also the fact that he didnāt kill Killian. He only knocked him out, because he didnāt intend on masquerading as him for more than that one day, to get that one kiss. If he needed to ensure he could live the rest of his life as OG Killian, he wouldāve killed him.
Incidentally, the nutters also love to call Wish Hook a murderer (as if both Hooks arenāt murderers already anyway?) and claim he didĀ mean to kill OG Killian, which would mean he either illogically knocked him out and figuredĀ āIāll come back here later, at an even less convenient time, to finish him off,ā or thought he HAD killed him, and literally raced back to the dock to... what? Drag his corpse back to Emma and be like,Ā āThought you might want this backā?
So thatās the twoĀ ārapesā in Season 7 that you might see people mention. One literally never happened, and the other was more of the writers so desperately wanting aĀ āGOTCHA!ā moment for the viewers that they kinda sorta accidentally raped a guy without meaning to. Incidentally, if anyone wants content of the quasi-kinda-oops-rape of Killian, I tagged itĀ āsnookeredā because with a blog like mine, theĀ ānonconsensualā tag is reserved for, uh, muchĀ rapier things.
Anyway! Thanks for the ask! I hope you enjoyed your long rant XD

I'm curious if you have details of this headcanon that Gothel wanted to "horrifically and traumatically spoil" poor virginal Rogers. Because it sounds accurate and this seams like something you have detailed headcanons about.
...I do, Nonny. Oh, of course I doooooo.
One of which is in my Rogers fic that Iām actually sharing (although I havenāt posted a new part in awhile now... oops!), where she abducts him and keeps him as her helpless and oblivious pet. Thatās my favorite headcanon.
I also like the idea of her seducing him normally, just asking him out and playing the role of a loving girlfriend, taking advantage of and enjoying his innocence and naivety... until the curse breaks and he looks over at her and is just flat out horrified that heās been canoodling with her for the past however-many months, and she smiles coldly, revealing to him that sheās been awake this whole time and knew exactly what she was doing...
I think either of those scenarios are pretty canon compliant, too. From her flirting and comments about him (and othersā comments to her about him) she definitely has some kind of lasting attraction to him, paired with a hatred of all humans (including him)... making the field ripe for a love/hate abuse scenario. Itās basically canon and practically writes itself.
Unwanted Touches in episode 7x07Ā āEloise Gardenerā
After finding out heād been tricked into bedding the evil witch at the top of the tower instead of the innocent maiden heād thought she was, Hook wants nothing more to do with Mother Gothel. Unfortunately, the two of them now have a child together... and she seems to still enjoy caressing him, whether he seems to like it or not (spoiler alert: he doesnāt).

The Morning After with Rapunzel in episode 7x07Ā āEloise Gardenerā
After a lovely night with the maiden atop the tower, Hook wakes in a good mood. Unfortunately, things pretty quickly go South for our hapless pirate, as he suddenly finds himself having fathered a child. And just when things seem quite confusing and quite bad for the pirate, things take an even worse turn...
