Does the character have other characters connected to them? Do you have a family tree and "offscreen" connections made up for them or do they exist in a vacuum purely for the purpose of the story?

I’ve made a handy-dandy Hunter family tree!! She has a lot of living family actually. Her half-brother is canonically dead now though he was a member of the Heaven’s Ward. Not that she knew that ever.

And Synnova doesn’t want kids!! Her own mom is a wretched lady who was super traumatized and took that out on Synnova. She doesn’t want to repeat that, or worse, be unable to provide stability because the Warrior of Light is always in need somewhere.

👾 What made you choose to go on this journey (FFXIV story)?

Synnova goes with the flow so it was always going to be in her nature to follow her friends into battle. As a healer and an older scion she also definitely feels some responsibility for the young ones (Alisae, Alphinaud, more as they join) even though she wishes she could be more carefree. Right now we’re in the middle of Shadowbringers, and I see her gentleness come out when “young Minfilia” looks up to her. Synnova doesn’t want to be a mother but she’ll protect these young ones’ dreams for the dreams of her younger self that she never fulfilled.

As for me, Joy, I started playing ffxiv for serious because of my (then gf) in 2020 or so. I got really into it and made it all the way through Heavensward as a completely different character… then due to a bunch of life changes I dropped the game in 2021. I came back just this year with fantasia in hand to turn the game into a more fulfilling space for me. I’m now part of a small and cute FC full of <<CLOWN>>s and happily married to the woman who kicked off my adventure.

If you’re busy when inspiration hits do you jot down a note to remember later or do you just hope you’ll remember when you have time to work on it?

I used to jot notes down for later all the time but then when I returned to my ideas I didn’t know what they were supposed to be… ^^; I’ve taken to doing sketches for pics I want to execute now even if I never pick them back up. And a sketch might be a post-it that has a two minute doodle on it but at least I know what I was going for when I see it!
