OR why all the characters run into uniformization, where are their initial complex personalities?

Omg I’ve been wanting to post about this topic for a while so I’m really glad you brought it up.

You’re not alone. I’m also completely 100% desensitized to the whole “Levi loses his team” concept. Because honestly? It pisses me off how people only talk about Levi losing his squad and ignore the fact that EVERYONE in the story has been affected by it. 

Like, Levi isn’t the only person who lost people under his command/people dear to him multiple times throughout the course of the plot. Literally every character in the story has experienced some form of loss. They’ve been living in a constant state of war so Levi isn’t special in that he lost his team more than once. It’s something anyone in the SC is very familiar with.

But the fandom is always just like “poor Levi, poor Levi” and I’m so done. He’s not the only character who has to deal with that so I don’t see how it makes him any more special or pitiful than anyone else. Not to mention how people just cry over his loss because they’re up his ass but don’t give a shit about the people who actually died. 

Personally, even back when Gunther, Eld, Petra, and Oluo were killed, I didn’t feel bad for Levi himself. I felt bad for them since they were the ones who died in gruesome ways.

Well, if you want a summary about what PATHS are, I tried explaining it in an ask recently. Your other option is to read the wiki, or just reread the entire series from the point where you got lost (or stay confused I guess). But if you want to understand the story (which makes it all the more enjoyable), I’d suggest you make an effort to learn about PATHS because they’re an integral part of the plot.

As for why Eren went off on his own, we don’t know the full story yet, but it’s clearly because he felt like they were wasting time and he couldn’t continue waiting around for the military to make a decision that wouldn’t end up getting them all killed. There’s also a flashback where he says that they need to show Marley who’s boss so that Paradis can buy itself some time to advance. Essentially, it comes down to Eren being fed up with all the waiting around and wanting to take action while he was still alive because he doesn’t want to shove any responsibility onto the future generations.

I’m not sure what you’re confused about regarding Levi and Zeke, but Levi was taking Zeke to someplace where he could be eaten, and the thunderspear was meant to threaten Zeke into cooperating (but it backfired cause Levi didn’t think Zeke would go for a suicide charge). Whether that was Historia’s place or headquarters, we don’t know yet.

All in all, I don’t think the storyline is a mess. It can just be confusing if you don’t go back and refresh your memory. Rereading is the best way to understand the story as a whole in my opinion. The first time you read a chapter, you don’t end up noticing a lot of the details/implications. So going back to reread after a while can clear up a lot of the questions you might have.
