I just heard the dub voices and no… just no.
We never got answers to why Rod Reiss couldn’t inherit the Coordinate or why his mindless Titan form was very abnormal.
And we never found out how the royal bloodline even works. We know it doesn’t need to be both parents who have royal blood for it to pass on.
But yeah I’m wondering if Rod was maybe half non-SoY? Maybe having non-SoY blood messes that up. So perhaps he wasn’t Uri’s full sibling. But in that case, I don’t know how this wouldn’t affect Historia. Maybe Rod just had some other genetic anomaly.
Then there’s also the stuff with the Ackermans. They have to still be considered SoY even if their memories can’t be altered since M could hear Eren’s message at the end.
But yeah I’m guessing someone like M would probably titanize weird since she was half non-SoY.
Edit: Actually, maybe Rod didn’t want the power himself because he knew about the curse and didn’t want to die. So that could be why he was offloading the responsibility onto others. And he did consume very little of the spinal fluid so perhaps that’s why his mindless Titan was very abnormal.

I forgot to say that I actually ended up watching some episodes from the last season lmao. The PATHS were at least done justice. But that CGI AT is abhorrent. You just have to rewatch season 1 or 2 to see how nonsensical it looks.
I find it a bit weird that people downplay Historia and Levi’s bond. Like I know he coerced her to become the queen, but I’m just thinking… Wasn’t that the point? Especially (and ironically) when the first Ackerman-Reiss friendship started after many years of conflict with ‘violence’.

Not only that, but considering they mirrored each other’s backstories, sharing an arc and creating a home for orphans together (they both adore children) while others were reluctant about it. And the only time Levi ever smiled in the series was at Historia. It’s safe to say they have some potential there and I wish their dynamic was explored more.
