I just had a thought about the costume design for Crowley.

The vests he wears mimic a corset. There's usually talk about Aziraphale's clothing layers, but Crowley has them tightly wrapped and covered. His clothing has a lot of buttons, even though they're usually open. His figure lines often form an hourglass.

A couple of practice doodles I made this weekend. They’re Not Great, but I made them just to see if I can still draw humans at all.

I guess I kinda can.

I’m still struggling with my life to try and figure out how to make my shading style less airbrushed. It’s been stuck like that for like the past 3-4 years.

it  has  been  longer  than  aziraphale  wished  since  they  had  done  this. the  picnic  basket  had  been  packed  long  before  @snakeyedemon  had  shown  up. it  was  supposed  to  be  a  splendid  evening  outside  of  tadfield,  the  newspaper  had  reported  that  morning. even  if  crowley  hadn't  asked  for  this  in  a  while,  it  was  a  task  they  were  always  happy  to  perform. ❛  try  not  to  dawdle,  dear. i  want  to  make  it  before  sunset  so  we  can  properly  enjoy  this  goût  de  diamants. ❜  their  french  is  stilted,  their  accent  abysmal,  but  they  hold  up  the  bottle  of  champagne  with  a  wide  smile. when  they're  finally  on  the  road,  the  angel  holds  onto  their  demon's  hand  the  entire  way,  a  book  in  their  other. there's  some  music  in  the  background,  bepop,  but  they  don't  complain. not  with  this  feeling  in  their  chest,  love  and  happiness. properly  content. 

 aziraphale  watches  as  crowley  unfolds  the  blanket  onto  the  green  grass,  freshly  mowed. she's  only  slightly  muttering  to  herself  as  she  does  it  and  he  grins  wider. it  stops  of  course,  when  she  pops  the  champagne  and  they  produce  two  plastic  champagne  flutes  from  the  picnic  basket. ❛  did  you  think  we'd  be  drinking  from  the  bottle,  you  old  serpent  ?  ❜  he  teases,  pressing  their  shoulders  together  as  they  fill  both  of  their  glasses. the  clink  of  the  glasses  together  is  not  as  satisfying  as  if  it  were  actual  glass,  but  it  will  do  just  fine. it's  not  as  if  he  notices,  not  with  the  way  he  is  currently  being  looked  at,  bright  yellow  eyes  watching. his  favorite  sight  on  earth,  their  eyes.

 as  the  sun  finally  sets  and  the  chocolate  strawberries  are  finished,  the  pair  of  them  lean  back  against  the  blanket. crowley's  eyes  never  leave  his  face,  not  once. when  they  speak  now,  it's  quieter,  more  subdued. they  paint pictures  of  colors  beyond  the  human imagination  and  patterns  of  stars  coupled  together. the  big  dipper  and  cassiopeia  are  what  they  identify  first,  free  arm  moving  as  they  point. they  think  that  their  demon  has  only  loved  one  thing  they  way  they  love  him  ;  space. the  very  thing  they  helped  create  becomes  his  biggest  punishment. it's  torture  for  them  in  a  way  he  had  never  once  been  able  to  understand,  even  as  hundreds  of  years  pass. 

 when  aziraphale  stops,  turning  to  where  crowley  is  curled  into  them,  and  leaning  over  to  press  a  quick  kiss  against  her  lips. ❛  you  made  the  world  more  beautiful. and  i,  for  one,  thank  you  for  it. ❜

OH NO NO NO THE NO.

Looking back. "I know what YOU smell like." And suddenly, subtly, it's THERE. Tiniest of bleps here and there. Which Aziraphale knows, because HE bleps in Hell to be in character. Crowley bleps a LOT around Jim-biel, trying to suss out if he's faking it. When he's explaining VAVOOM (and KUDOS to Jon Hamm because Goob's trying to do the Tennant/Crowley Left Eyebrow😄!), and infamously in the "Hello Gabriel" scene. It's been there the whole. Damn. Time.

But I looked, and: yeah, it's here. A half second after this gif starts, when he's hyperventilating and trying not to cry and soldiering on...blep. Tiny blep. Trying to maintain control...

coming  from  mammon,  it  would  have  been  almost  expected. though  there  had  been  times  where  he  had  come  to  miss  being  one  of  the  ethereals,  there  was  something  freeing  in  being  able  to  enjoy  what  he  would  not  have  been  able  to  as  an  angel. earth's  delights  are  what  they  specialized  in,  after  all. now,  they  can  mostly  do  what  they  want,  without  divine  influence  or  otherwise. but  from  @snakeyedemon  ?  even  after  the  apocalypse,  it  hadn't  been  outright  disrespect  of  heaven  or  god. not  like  this. he  thinks  he  likes  it,  though  he  won't  explain  exactly  what  has  his  eyes  shining. 

 for  a  very  long  time,  he  hadn't  been  sure  that  kokabiel  had  agreed  with  that  sentiment  coming  from  her  (  slightly  swollen  )  lips. they  stay  silent  for  a  minute,  laying  back  against  silk  sheets. his  own  decision  when  they  had  started  spending  more  time  in  the  angel's  bedroom. he  never  slept  much,  but  he  enjoyed  even  more  a  book  in  one  hand,  a  glass  of  wine  on  the  nightstand,  him  cuddled  up  in  their  side. 

 ❛  dearest  i-  ❜  the  clear  their  throat,  turning  his  body  to  face  her  completely,  now  laying  on  his  side. her  eyes  were  the  most  beautiful  shade  of  brown. he's  never  felt  warmer  than  when  shined  by  the  light  of  their  gaze. ❛  no  one  could  help  the  soul  who  tries  to  tear  us  apart. heaven,  hell,  anyone  or  anything  in  between. you  are  my  life  now. i  believe  we  have  made  a  rather  great  mess  of  the  last  six  thousand  years. i  have  regrets  but..... if  it  brought  us  together,  it  must  have  been  worth  it. ❜

𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐒  𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐓  𝐔𝐏  𝐀𝐒  𝐀  𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐓𝐘  𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍  flit  across  their  features.   palm  came  to  rest  upon  the  other's   (  the  demon's ?  )   shoulder  with  a  gentle  pat.    '  AH, POOR DEAR   -   you  must  be  parched !   and  i've  been  a  dreadful  host.  '    they  slipped  out  from  behind  the  counter  and  brushed  past  crowley   ...   at  such  proximity,  their  stark  likeness  was  not  lost  on  him.   they'd  been  assured  a  DEMON'S  nature  was  to  lie,  but  this  oddity  seemed  all  too  genuine.    '  let  me  grab  you  some  water   -   or  tea?   i've  a nice  lavender,  supposed  to  calm  the  nerves.  '    alcohol  hadn't  yet  occured  to  them.   

he  gave  a  few  plants  their  mild  misting  on  his  way  past,  and  shut  the  front  door   ;   closed  sign  decidedly flipped.   they  turned  with  a  smile  that  crinkled  the  skin  about  their  warm  chestnut  gaze.    '  we'll  figure  this  out !   two  heads  are  quite  better  than  one,  love.  '

 they  should  have  realized  it  was  the  tiefling  when  there  hadn't  been  an  immediate  calling  out  to  find  someone  that  worked  in  the  sanctuary. half  the  time,  they  were  closed  to  the  public anyways, which she of course knew. when  the  celestial  had  a  blessing  to  do,  or  a  new  tavern  to  try. ❛  oh,  crowley  !  ❜  they  exclaim,  all  but  bouncing  down  the  steps,  ❛  i  know  i  said  i  would  not  be  persistent  about  this,  but  have  you  managed  to  find  the  tome  i  have  been  looking  for  ?  ❜

❛  who  are  you  saving  those  for  ?  ❜  yrenia  sits  on  a  nearby  fallen  log,  braiding  magenta  and  brown  hair  together. they  use  their  chin  to  point  to  the  few  scattered  books  in  @snakeyedemon's  tent,  her  eyes  inquisitive. she  had  a  small  personal  collection  herself,  mostly  because  she  liked  reading  the  thoughts  of  those  they  had  come  across on their travels. if  most  of  them  were  stolen  or  looted  from  the  dead,  that's  her  business  and  not  the  redhead's. ❛  i have  never  seen  you  read  one. ❜  it's  very pointed.
