💝- Well the thing is I don’t remember the first time I ever watched cats. I assume it was probably before I was 5 and I most likely watched it at my grandparents house because my mom really didn’t like the musical. She describes it as the only broadway show she almost walked out on (but she stayed cuz memory). However as a child, despite not knowing the worlds, I found myself almost constantly humming “Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats” without having any clue where the song was from. When I was 16 I was one of 3 assistants in a youth musical theater workshop at a college and we each got to pick one number in the final performance to direct and one of the assistants chose to choreograph Mister Mistoffelees! After that it was a just a slow descent into Cats addiction, starting with watching 1998 clips, then the full film, then the bootleg, etc.

Tuggoffelees- they are just too cute and the fan art is too good to ignore.

Platoria- the dynamic between the two is very adorable. Plato being a goof while Victoria being this elegant and graceful cat, they just makes me very happy.

Mistoriastrap (2019 film)- while I do ship Tuggoffelees, for the movie I see Tugger and misto as exes and mistoriastrap as my primary ship. Their cuddly wholesome vibe makes me feel very happy and looking at mistoriastrap content legit make me less anxious.

Skimble/Jellylorum/Jennyanydots- NOW HEAR ME OUT! I saw this in a REALLY old fic for cats and I feel in love with the concept. Jenny, Skimble, and Jelly are really good friends. Jenny and Skimble mate first having Mungo and Rumple, then after Jelly supporting Jenny so much when Skimble is away and Skimble being so happy to her whenever he is around they all decide to bring her into the mix and that’s where Etcetera is born. I love this idea of supportive moms/girlfriends and train dad being a legend to the other Toms for having two mates.

Demestrap- Silver and gold~ this ship is very simple but very beautiful. The concept of Demeter learning to love again after being mistreated by Macavity is beautiful and Munk is very compatible with a lot of cats. This also leads into...

Deme/Bomba/Munk- THE HOLY TRINITY. Deme and Bomba always have this sisterly bond but I NEVER canon them as a sisters. Mostly I see them as girlfriends/friends with benefits who both fall for the stressed out protector and are just like ‘what’s mine is yours’ and Munk ain’t gonna fight that. However in stories or fanfics where they are solely demestrap I always tend to put Bomba with...

Bomba/Alonzo- this is for similar reasons to deme, learning to love again, falling for the protective Tom, but Bomba and Alonzo always made more sense to me rather than Bomba and Munk because Alonzo just has a more dominant and sexual energy to me (don’t @ me). They always seemed like they had great energy but they also have an open relationship considering how they flirt the fuck out of any cat they like.

And finally one of my favorite ships that I’m starting to see people like (at least partially)...

Coricopat/Mungo and Tantomile/Rumple- I have always loved how the two twins sets contrast each other and I also love the ironic but adorable nature of sets of twins falling in love with each other. I also canon that their kids would be this weird hodgepodge of having this unearthly wisdom and using it to cause shear mayhem. (TO CLARIFY, Cori and Tanto are siblings, Mungo and Rumple are siblings, they don’t mix it up and there is no incest. Get it? Got it? Good.)

💜- oof. Alright so for almost every single production of Cats Memory takes the cake for me. It’s a beautiful moving song that I am almost constantly humming to myself. HOWEVER, for the 2019 version alone, Sir Ian Mckellan can’t be matched. His Gus was so powerful and compared to frozen memories I’ve seen while the movie memory wasn’t the worst by a long shot, it also wasn’t the best.
