#snake bag

So I just learned from a coworker a really neat way to help snakes get off stuck shed! (Maybe I should have known this already :P) Often times, if humidity levels aren't adequate, you will find your snake managed to rub off shed from its underside, but the dorsal side remained intact - and/or other states of an incomplete shed. Never to fear! Take a snake bag and dampen the entire thing with luke-warm water. Make sure to wring out as much water as possible so it is not wet. Place the snake inside the bag - do NOT tie it closed - and place the bag and snake back inside the enclosure. Let the snake do its thing for a bit, and you'll find it has rubbed off most to all of the remaining shed skin! It seems to be a lot less stressful for the snake than manually picking off the pieces, is more effective than a soak, and it provides a secure, dark place for them to wiggle around in.
