Today I woke up at 11:30 and Skyped with my parents for nearly 3 hours. Then I went with my friend Nayeon to Apgujeong, which is suppose to be this famous upscale shopping area, and we wanted to go check it out just because we've never been. It's not much and super expensive. Personally I like Myeongdong better. Because most of the stuff is actually within my price range.
So recently, I don't know, maybe it's because I am guilty for always being so, as Ailsa calls it, "productive" and far away from home, or maybe talking to my aunt a lot while I was in China made me realize how much my mom does for our family, but I really want to buy something for my parents. My mom is completely un-girly though and she has about zero fashion sense. She doesn't wear any make up or any jewelry or anything that takes care of her skin. But yesterday, she said that she has been using the masks I brought home last summer and her skin feels nicer so she wants me to get her some. And then I also sent her a bunch of pictures of bags because the one she carries around right now is black and pretty... ugly (at least I don't like it). I realized that it's not that my mom doesn't really want to be pretty and made up, but it's because we just don't have the money to maintain that kind of lifestyle. -sigh- So much that my mom sacrifices...
So yesterday, after we went to Apgujeong, we went to Myeongdong but Nayeon had to leave early. So after she left, I basically went into every like skin product store to look at the masks and their anti-aging creams. Apparently there is this new anti-aging fad going around about Snail Extract? So weird but all the stores had it so I guess it's semi-legit. But ohmygosh, thank goodness I can speak Chinese because like most of the store clerks are fluent in Chinese and Japanese but NONE of them can speak English. It's so sad. ;; Anyway, I looked at prices and tried some of the creams, and reported back to my mom. I also know nothing about like skin care and all that business... as long as I don't get pimples, my life is good. So yeah, got some glittery BB cream on my left hand and a bunch of snail extract on my right hand. Yeeeee, awesomeeee. LOL
I got this grey dress that is too tight (you can see everything) since they wouldn't let me try it on. They let me try on this other dress though. It was more formal and pretty but the waist was too big. But I really liked this dress because somehow, when I pulled the waist area tight, it made me look SO SKINNY. But alas, it was too big. :( Anthony was like maybe you should gain a few pounds, then that dress would be perfect. I was like: Gaining weight to fit into a dress that is suppose to make me look skinnier makes zero sense. Haha, boys. Also got this hair clip that I had been eyeing since last summer. It was a little overpriced but I couldn't find anything like it so I just resigned to the price. I mean, I had been waiting for it for a whole year.
Seriously though, since it's the second half of my stay, I've been like on a shopping mission. I think today I will go with David and friends to Insadong and souvenir shop and then maybe hit up Dongdaemun if it isn't too late and I will drag the boys around and do some shopping! Although David tells me that Sean loves to shop, so maybe I won't have to be too guilty about making them shop with me. LOLOL Alrighty, I really can't procrastinate on this cinema project anymore.
