Hazel was having the happiest dream ever. She had come downstairs to a party being thrown. Her wish coming true party, her mom and dad said - because your wish is true now. We love you. Hazel cried tears of happiness and joy and unfurled her wings and flew herself into her mom and dad’s arms and they hugged her tight. She shut her eyes, letting the happy tears flow down.
And then she opened her eyes and her mom and dad were gone. She wasn’t being hugged anymore.
She was alone. Up in a tree, all alone.
First confusion then Hazel remembered how she had flown away from home and her heart dropped. It was just a dream. She looked up at the night sky full of stars and started to cry. It had felt so real… she had been so sure… but no it was just a dream and her wish wasn’t true and never would be. Her parents would never throw a wish coming true party for her… when she had asked before flying away if they would ever love her they had said no. So her dream could never be real. But she wished it were real. She wanted it to be. But it couldn’t be and that hurt so much.
As she cried she suddenly saw through her tears someone down below her tree. She saw long white hair. Someone was right under her tree! She stared down as she cried and saw it was a woman. Hazel struggled to stop crying but she couldn’t. Does she hear me? Will she see me? Will she want to hurt me? Should I fly away? Hazel unfurled her wings but was too scared to move, staring down at the woman fearfully.
