i’ve been coping okay. my sister has come to stay with me for a bit while shes on her semester break and we’ve been doing lots of stuff together. the other day me, her, and my roommates failed miserably doing an escape room (they had a strict no recording policy which i get but there was a live actor that we didn’t know about and i cannot describe the fear i felt when he showed up 😭 anyway)

i miss my mom a lot. i had the depressing realization that she won’t see my sister graduate high school or me graduate uni and i’m about to cry again ☹️ but i’ve been trying to do things that make me feel closer to her. she has a bunch of her recipes written for us but i don’t understand all of it because some of it is in kapampangan, which is a filipino language but different then what i speak. she taught me a little when i was younger but i’ve lived in canada for most of my life while she stayed in the philippines so it wasn’t always easy. still, cooking has been a good pass time. think my roommates might be sick of me, lol.

i’ve also been trying to use tagalog more often because it makes me feel closer to her. i’m so grateful for where i live because theres actually a fairly large filipino population. my mom would have loved it here if it wasn’t so cold.

my car!!! i have named her sydney and shes my best friend. i do still have to take the train from time to time but its nice not having to wait like 20 minutes for a bus because it decided to lightly snow ☠️

your nephew is great 🫶 there is also a slight chance he is your niece. according to the vet he isn’t old enough to determine his gender 😭 i guess when i got him i just assumed he was a boy? we’ll find out in a couple more months i guess.

today’s weather isn’t awful! it was like -26° yesterday but today is -1°. big jump i know.
