fUCKIN RELIGIOUS IMAGERY MAN, the biblical names just make it so easy, i mean gabriel being the name of an angel + spook's hallucinations taking the form of a demon give me a bible boner like you wouldn't believe PLUS there's the whole thing where angels have wings and crows have wings and even monster!one has wings and it's just great and fkgkfjbs i could write a whole fucking essay on religous imagery/symbolism in 1spooky

and you know the whole 'not exactly equals' thing is what i love about 1spooky, well aside from the 'victim' angle, which i never really got to explore adequately in fic but just the whole contrast between one always feeling very much responsible for his own actions and spook feeling victimized by his demon

i think it was discussed canonically after one's little foray into self-cannibalism, when spook was asking him if something had told him to do it and one was like 'no buddy this is all me but i kinda wish i could say it wasn't'

anyway yeah 1spooky is basically this big competition over who's more demented and that's one of the reasons i wrote lost souls cos i wanted to see how that would play out taken to its logical extreme and obvs one took the trophy there

uncomfortable ths was prolly the deciding vote for me in that department, you know, just spook being a victim of circumstance whose life took some shitty turns that woke up some ugly things whereas one being like he is now is actually the BEST-case scenario

plus that aside there's the fact that one's violent tendencies have always been directed outward - i mean you've got people like bitter who are suicidal like 75% of the time but wouldn't hurt a fly, and people like spook who want to kill other people about half the time and themselves the other half, and people like one, who to me has always seemed more interested in hurting other people than hurting himself.

i think i actually sent owl an ask about that once...like 'is one more of a danger to himself or others' and she said others, he pretty much just hurts himself bc a lot of the time he's the only one available

it's kinda funny cos imo spook definitely comes off scarier and his backstory has more punch to it and i think if you showed some random dude off the street a picture and a 100-word profile they'd peg spook as the alpha psycho but for me it comes down to the fact that spook is being hunted by a monster, and one is a monster
