Did Smart Get its New Logo from this Design?

People are currently talking about the new logo from Smart and it has been followed by a bit of controversy. The usual stuff has been shared online, like the different elements to the overall design to the color scheme. Basically all the usual “critique” that a big company gets whenever they change their logo. So anyway, there has been several sources coming from various pages and even Facebook…

So Smart telecom, one of the Big Two cell providers in the Philippines, has two types of ‘load cards’ for prepaid services—one for data and one for calls/texts. You cannot, say, use a call/text card to load up a wifi hotspot. You can only use it to load up a regular prepaid phone.

You can, however, give said card to a friend to load up their prepaid call/text account and then have them send load to your data account via text (they send a text to a number and the load gets deducted from their account and put into your account).
