Me: God, why am i suffering?! Why do bad things happen to me?!
God: Cuteness aggression 🥰
Hes a fucking loser, I love him sm, I wanna squish him like a grape.
There’s this word in my language—gigil—that refers to the uncontrollable urge to squeeze something or someone very cute. Or at least that’s how the internet defines it.
Gigil, I think, is not limited to cute things. The gist is that you have this uncontrollable urge to do something physical (pinching, hitting, hugging, kissing, etc.) out of an overwhelming emotion—most often love, but it can also be anger.
So if anybody asks me whether I love or hate Kaiser, my answer is this:
Nanggigigil ako sa kanya
I want to [insert any physical action here] him.

Feels like I'm the only person who thinks Gigil Macross 7 is hot. BUT WHO KNOWS, I COULD BE WRONG...
Gigils are solitary creatures who rule at the top of the food chain in the mountains where they live. While they may appear brutish and simple, they are anything but, as gigils have many strange behaviours that almost appear to suggest some sort of culture among themselves. While they spend most of their time alone, every so often they come together at night to gather sticks in a big pile and observe the starry sky. They also have the uncanny ability to appear in places right before a natural disaster strikes, leading many to believe that they are a bad omen.
Read more about them on World Anvil!
Now that we have completed last year's Mythober prompts, let's go back to the "regular" illustrations ;)
Gigil: a Tagalog word that expresses being overwhelmed by a sense of cuteness that brings one to grit their teeth or feel the irresistible urge to squeeze something adorable. It also may indicate other responses that overwhelm self-control, like trembling from nervousness.
We get to draw a personal character for this prompt, and the choice fell on Mru! Mru is a sweet tabaxi child that brings mail (and spoilers) in our current D&D campaign, and most of the playing characters just adore him. He gets all the cuddles the moment he appears 💕
