Eric Clapton is one of those rockers who has been everywhere. While he is mostly known for his solo work, he was also a member of quite a few groups and a session musician for a lot of prominent singers, such as George Harrison and Roger Waters. Solowise, he debuted with his eponymous album which serves as a great introduction to his opus. Yes, he does sound unsure on it, when he has to sing, yet his guitar playing is superb as always. This opening of the record showed us that with his steady hand, guiding us together with the Bobby Keys’ woodwinds to yet another chapter of his storied career. I mean, by the time he released this album, he already worked with The Yarbirds, Cream and The Beatles. This instrumental probably starts this LP to assure us that he knows what he is doing. You know what? He’s absolutely right.
