Florian is terrified of talking about his feelings and doesn't really get much better at it in his book, Curls of Smoke... BUT is going to learn to do it in his sequel!

Katharina from the Violins and Violets series is scared of being herself, or letting anyone get close enough to her to find out who she really is - quite literally, because she's in disguise - BUT ends up having to face this fear when her identity gets uncovered.

Sometimes there's a few off days, but I'm keeping myself busy.

Let me see, I'm kind of proud of my series Dream of a Girl with Alpha!Lee Bodecker, because I hadn't (intentionally) written a neurodivergent\autistic character before, and I was very nervous people would think I messed it up. And it turned out people liked it. And writing it made me realize how nice and important it is to have someone completely accept you and want to look after you and that even with flaws it doesn't mean you're worthless. That story for me was about feeling different and struggling, and in this story at the end she is wanted and taken care of and loved.

And in a way it feels like I've been gifted this Lee, if that makes any sense? It makes me happy thinking about him and it cheers me up every time.

Oooh, that's a... That's a good question. I think what inspired Libby starts with one of my favourite video games, Dying Light. It's a parkour zombie apocalypse set in Turkey and it's about Kyle Crane, who's been hired by a political agency to find a secret file in the city of Harran. One of my thoughts whilst playing that was, "Wouldn't it be awesome if there was a character who's like Ellie (The Last of Us)?". :)

And so, Libby was born! She's been around for six years now, I first created her in 2018. And though she's inspired by Ellie, she has her own personality. :)

I find her to be a very complex character, to be honest. Her story is one in which she must grow up and become her own person, whilst letting go of her past and taking charge of her life. :)
