YEAH FOR REAL i didn’t mention it just because there was too fucking much i was trying not to go on a full blown rant about 😭 like the spoonfeeding “here’s what’s happening and here’s what you should think about it” was really coming from all angles and the narrator was simply an easy target (and the one who was talking in the scene that made me stop watching lmfao)

just before i stopped watching in the second episode there was a scene with a bunch of town bystanders doing the same damn thing too

it was making me think of like. in haikyuu when you have the older volleyball guys in the audience explaining the significance of whatever’s happening in the game for the benefit of people who don’t know shit about the rules or strategies or the skill required or anything. and maybe if you already know volleyball really well you’d be like “yeah i know. i literally just saw all that happen. i don’t need this commentary.”

as someone who attacked the party in their first playthrough this makes me so happy........ we really need representation in this fandom /silly (but really i do wish more people had siffrin attack the party......................................................)

YEAHHH it's always cool to see, but i haven't seen it very often

it's not actually something i did when i played the game either, because i immediately recoiled at the thought of hurting anyone....but having thought about it more since then, it's something i really enjoy incorporating into "my canon" for how things happened. they're panicked and distressed and angry, they've ALREADY lashed out verbally (and regretted it), why not double down and have them lash out physically (and regret it)?? another way for the distress and negativity to manifest externally in ways that can hurt others and not just himself, and still be met with love and forgiveness and understanding afterwards.

i haven't really dived into it in any detail but i like thinking about how that would give Siffrin new flavors of guilt, and the rest of the party new & different things to worry about postcanon...i imagine it would be pretty hard to shake off the image of a GIANT DAGGER crashing down on you, even if you never ended up hurt by it

okayyy here are my my comment writing secrets just for you 💖

my biggest trick is keeping my notes app open while i read. if i see a line or scene that i like, I copy and paste it into my notes. and then i try to write something about it - sometimes i just say how I reacted to that line ("this part made me laugh", "this part made me gasp out loud"), but if i have more to say about it like what part of it specifically that i liked I'll talk about that too.

sometimes i don't have anything to say about the line/scene at that specific moment but still liked it, in which case I just paste it in there (or describe it if it's a longer scene) and leave it as is while I continue reading, so I can go back to it later after I've finished the chapter. if i still don't have anything to say after I finish reading, I just leave it in as a bullet point of the parts that I liked because authors love knowing that stuff.

writing my comments as i read helps me make sure that i don't forget to mention the stuff that I liked (which tends to happen if I wait until I get to the end before I start writing).
