New references that all the heroes are going to get cause I said so. Basically this is me working to figure out how they would most likely sleep and drawing it because I can.
First done are the Colors with Shadow. The idea that I was going with is that before Shadow joins them the four have just enough beds for them and they initially plan on getting a fifth once Aster brings Shadow home but that never actually happens (Shadow wouldn't say this but he prefers it this way) so Shadow ends up sharing a bed with either of the four and who he shares a bed with depends on how he is feeling and the results vary.
Under the cut I have an explanation as well as shaded versions of the pictures.
The pictures above are ordered in the amount of connect the two sleeping have.
Poppy is likely to move and hold onto whoever is closest and when at home this ends up being Shadow. Shadow would typically choose to share a bed with Poppy after an emotionally rough day when he questions his place among the colors. Or just needs the comfort of knowing that someone is there and he's safe.
Aster is typically a back/side sleeper and doesn't move around too much during the night. Shadow typically defaults to sharing a bed with Aster as it's a decent middle ground of comfort while not feeling restrained.
Forest starfishes is his sleep. He will typically take up the whole bed and spread out. When Shadow chooses to share the bed with him he unconsciously limits the space he takes to give Shadow his own space to spread out in. Shadow typically shares the bed with Forest after a day of hard work, when he's feeling stiff, or when he's restless due to being confined indoors for any reason. It's during these times that Shadow spreads out in his sleep.
Jay is a side sleeper and doesn't take up much space, he also gets warm easily in the night and is commonly kicking his covers off in his sleep. While not as often as the other three Shadow will gets days were it's a bit much and the idea of sleeping with any of the other three isn't okay with him he'll share a bed with Jay, happy to have his own space.
Regardless of who he shares a bed with Shadow is always is contact with them in some way, whether it's curled into their side, or just a hand reaching out towards the other person. After the time he spent on his own before Aster found him he prefers knowing the others are there.
When traveling with the other heroes the five will typically sequester an area at the edge of camp and form a small cluster with Shadow picking a spot in the middle closer to the one he'd share a space with.
