Does sleeping long helps to stay young?
Hi all, while discussing with my friends recently and actually doing our own experiments, we all realized: Sleeping long keeps you young.
So most of us have to work daily, getting up early and doing a job that none of us really likes. Our weeks are exhausting and on average we get around 5-6 h of sleep every day. Since we are all going towards 30, some of us have reached it already.
Let’s leave out the fact that we have different genetics and maybe the nutrition can differ a bit. What we realized is that those of us who are “unemployed” are sleeping on average 12 h every day. Their nutrition and physical activity is usually less good than those of us who are working.
When looking at skin however, we all clearly see that sleeping that long has a positive impact. Not only is your immune system stronger, but also your skin tends to look younger.
I really hope to get the chance of doing my own experiment in the future. Start sleeping 10 h instead of 5 h per day, without changing my workout schedule or nutrition. That would be the perfect test. Unfortunately I depend on my work too much to do something like this. But we never know, if I ever get the chance, will surely do a before after picture and let you guys know.
