Is there even a way I can express how bad this is with human words? Thinking of this mess makes me so depressed.

This is a direct continuation of Season 4 and it maintained every single problem (and added more to it) from there so read that. 

The majority of this whole thing is shitty filler that goes nowhere. Their pathetic attempt at nostalgia pulling even makes them bring in Nahga, oh I’m sorry, I meant Nahma. In their search for the jar they stumble upon a moving armour who seems to have amnesia or something. You know from her laugh that she is Nahga but her personality isn’t. It’s INSANELY annoying and I can’t believe they managed to mangle a character that technically didn’t even appear?? And after “Nahma” disappears... that’s it. There’s no surprise meeting with the real Nahga, she is just poof, gone. 

Then there’s Zuuma, the assassin. He makes up some convoluted plot to get Lina and also deploys 2 powerful demons to take down Amelia and Zelgadis. You would expect a huge fight scene right? Right?? Because this is Slayers???? But no, Zuuma calls the Demons to him, absorbs them and before he can do anything Xellos shows up literally out of nowhere and kills him with 1 attack????

Then there’s Ozzel, some doll that Rezo made or something? She actually has some character development and then she just poof dies. It’s not even clear why or how she is just... dead...?????? 

They also wrap up Zelgadis’ storyline in the most pathetic way possible, which is something that pissed me off insanely bad. He was completely out of character the entire time and their solution to his problem is that there’s no solution. Well, fantastic!

The final battle and the lead up to it was also stupid, made no sense, had bad pacing and pissed me off like everything else in this fucking Revolution arc. Now Xellos is acting out of character (great! just damn destroy every iconic character, will yah?) and Lina is contemplating life while her friends are fighting. And she ends up using the “forbidden spell”! You know, the whole thing she was trying to avoid using from season 1??? She struggles with herself for like a solid 30 seconds then just busts it out like it’s nothing! And if you know who she used this spell against in season 1, yes they brought HIM back as well just so he can spew some evil lines.

I never quite understood before why people were apprehensive about reboots but I get it now y’all. I get it and I want to wipe my memory.
