I forgot to share this... It's Ponta and Pokota again. But this time I didn't draw them in their chibi form unlike my first drawing of them.
Also I made the background with images from the Frutiger Aero Archive the night sky is custom made I had to search up a night stary sky image and remove the background and use a gradient on it. Just to make it a little nostalgic.
“Kore Kaite Shine” UThe Second Teaser Promo
The official website for the television anime adaptation of Minoru Toyoda's Kore Kaite Shine (Draw This, Then Die!) manga revealed a second teaser promotional video. In July 2026, the anime series will debut at 11:30 p.m. on 30 stations across the country and the Nippon TV network's FuraAni programming block.
Zelgadis has always been temperamental and occasionally insensitive, but reasonable and capable of compassion. His behavior in episode 10 of Evolution-R is just... horrible.
Setting aside for a moment that his toddler temper tantrum towards Pokota is petty and selfish and cruel in a way that undermines all of Zel's character growth since Lina first met him...
None of the fighting over the jar containing Rezo's soul actually makes sense even from his perspective - like, if Rezo (who was always a horrible person) just needs a vessel body to do the things they want, just fuckin??? let him restore Taforashia first and THEN make him tell Zel how to get his body back? What, does Zel think that after Rezo restores Taforashia he's going to die or dissolve or they're going to have to murder him? Zelgadis is NOT this pitifully irrational. Why is this fight even a fight? Why hasn't Lina punched Zel in the dick and pointed this out to him? Why isn't Amelia, who values justice and kindness over anything else, reaching out to him and telling him he's literally better than this? Even Gourry has called Zel out on his jerk moments in the past.
With how awful he acts through this episode, I can't even feel sorry for Zelgadis when Rezo tells him there's no way to restore his body, and that should have been a really sad reveal after all these years.
It would have been infinitely more interesting and consistent with Zelgadis' real characterization for him to show even a little empathy for what Pokota has just learned from Rezo. Sheesh.
The Zanaffar itself has a downgrade in appearance compared to the one we saw in season 1. It's not terrible, it's just not that menacing.
Oh yeah, Seiruun has defensive weapons called Jillas Cannons now. I'm glad our boy finally got a little recognition.
You know what IS terrible though? Centaur Duclis. Why did that need to be a thing? What was the point of Duclis first being seemingly mortally wounded and about to be consumed, admitting his regrets and that the Zanaffar Armor has been slowly corrupting him for years, and using his last amounts of free will to help destroy Zanaffar -- just for him to survive in this stupid permanent fugly fusion form, beg Pokota to kill him and have Pokota refuse because of their friendship, and then be told that his real punishment is that he's going to have to wander the world alone for the rest of his life and then never appear in the anime again? It's clumsy storytelling and poor character development, and it feels like the writers weren't actually sure WHAT they wanted to do with him.
Anyway, that's about all for Revolution. Time to start Evolution-R and pull apart the plot holes there.

It's also VERY cute seeing Lina and co try to get Pokota to relax a little and enjoy the journey. He's more immature than they are (being a much younger child), but is super tightly wound. Everyone taking crazy advantage of Amelia's money on the cruise felt a little too mean, though. Even Zelgadis, jeez.
BUT, the reveal that every rich idiot on the cruise ship is secretly there (independent of one another) as a hit man to get the gang is maybe the first major gag of Revolution that really feels like the old Slayers spirit.
The following episode is one of the few to employ Wizer in a way that's actually funny, with Xelloss immediately taking the opportunity to make him try to catch Lina by flirting with her in various weird scenarios. I wouldn't outright dislike Wizer so much if he hadn't been shoehorned into so many episodes.
Okay, I want to try to like more about Revolution this time, but I already have more complaints:
Lina's irritability is really played up more than usual, mostly for slapstick scenes, but it hurts a lot of her charm because she just seems mean instead of scrappy
They didn't make new background music?? It's almost all reused tracks from the first three seasons. Low budget?
I just don't find the shtick with Wizer funny at all, even a little. Does anyone??? Seriously, I'm asking
Some stuff I do like:
I know it's part of why he's controversial, but Pokota being a sorcery prodigy doesn't bother me at all. Lina's seasonal rivals are often way less competent than she or her friends are, and the temporary teammates are usually out of their element on these idiots' adventures and with their over the top energy, and that can get stale after three seasons, two OAV series, and five movies.
Pokota can hold his own against Lina, and honestly, good for him. If Lina can be as incredibly talented as she is at her age, why can't someone else be too?
His immaturity keeps him from feeling too overbearing or like he's just humiliating the gang, and it's nice to see someone fit in as teammate because he's just as powerful and just as weird
Why IS Lina's reputation so terrible now? Does it actually make sense considering the frequent collateral damage from her adventures, including the heroic ones, or is it forced to kickstart the plot and introduce Wizer? I get the feeling the writers found Wizer much, much, much funnier than literally anyone else did.
Pokota on the other hand is really cute, and I remember liking him. He's very childish, but that makes him an enjoyable frenemy for Lina. One of my beloved little ferrets was named after him.
