You know what I hate from the majority of the depictions of slaneeshi worshippers??? They only depict sexy slutty women in it. I never see a piece of art or mini that depict sexy slutty men in it. Even the depictions of Slaneesh itself are "generic atractive woman... but hey, its PINK and has HORNS!".
And don't get me wrong, I love sexy woman too, but make them the only ones focused in the sexual part of "excess and pleasure" is weird for me. And reminded me of that article written by Terry Pratchett (Is "Why Gandalf never married" in English if I'm not wrong).
I think we can make a more deeper analysis about why we never depict men as "lustful worshipers of excess and pleasure" as we do with women in fiction in general (and about why in the only few exceptions, the man is ALWAYS a queer man, and focused in his queernes), but i don't have the strength to make it today.

I got around to reading Fulgrim Visions of Treachery, and I wasn’t as horrified as I thought I’d be considering what I heard about it.
I think it’s partly due to the fact that I’m desensitized by Warhammer 40k gore by now and the constant exasperation that I felt due to the arrogance of the Emperor’s Children.
Fulgrim is…this is my first time reading a book focused on him, but I think he is predictable. He loves his brothers and the Emperor, but when perfection comes into the picture, he becomes blind. His insecurities was the crack needed by chaos to corrupt him slowly and surely.
During the meeting between him and Eldrad, I was wincing because I just knew that Fulgrim would not take the news of Horus’s injury and future betrayal well. Honestly, Eldrad should’ve known that something was wrong when he couldn’t see Fulgrim’s future with his powers.
Ferrus Manus, headless metal man himself. I don’t know a lot about him besides from what was shown in the book. What did show was that he was a bit rash when angered, an artist, he loved Fulgrim, and I think filled with warp energy if I read the scene where he died correctly. I’m unsure about that part.
The description of the overwhelming sensory exposure the characters were attacked with was amazing. It really brought you into the scene, especially during the scene with Laer temple and the Maraviglia.
Speaking of, I could barely put the book down because I’ve heard snippets about that scene and was looking forward to finally read it. It did not disappoint. I liked the way it was described without explicitly going into detail and yet one could picture what was happening exactly. I especially like the part where Marius turned into a Noise Marine.
When Julius felt something was wrong when they discovered the Laer blade and he started researching, I thought he would be the marine who would stand out, like Loken. I was wrong. He fell right alongside them.
The ones who stood out were Solomon and best boy Saul Tarvitz. Though the only reason I like Solomon was that he acknowledged Tarvitz when others didn’t think much of him. Their deaths was the most tragic in the book.
Moving onto the remembrancers. First off, I hated Bequa Kynska. My hate was cemented when she tried to force herself on Ostian.
I was actually rooting for Ostian to be the, like, the final guy of the remembrancers, but Warhammer 40k being Warhammer 40k, and being around the Emperor’s Children, there are no survivors.
And I felt bad for Serena. Her downfall was foreshadowed in the beginning. Her insecurity of being less talented than the others just gave Chaos more power over her and she just fell down that hole. Then my sympathy went away when she started Lucius on his self maiming journey, which I mistakenly thought Bequa started before as read the book, and she felt smug about getting away with lying to him about killing another remembrancer.
It was interesting to see the fall of the Emperor’s Children from within and how Slaneesh corrupts people.
During the final battle on Istvaan 5, I was on the edge of my seat just knowing that the truth was going to be revealed. And when Fulgrim realized that he couldn’t go back after killing Ferrus, all I could think was that he did not deserve to feel sorry for himself. Because he was warned and he saw the signs for himself, but did not listen. And people would probably say that he was too deep in the Laer blade’s clutches, but I don’t care.
So, yeah. He deserved to get stuck inside the painting. Though I know he escapes some time later.
I think I’ve decided…I will progress this model some more. Gave her a good dusting and gave her a matt varnish. Next is some strategic oil/ pin wash. Let’s make this lady proud!
