Another evening, same as the last Time wasted holding my breath Trying to impress a stranger, And avoiding the danger Of slipping on the ice and breaking my neck

Great bands, good times, come on out! I'm excited to see friends. $5 | 7pm
The best show that everyone missed
God damn. I wish that would've been on a weekend. That was so awesome. Every fucking band killed it, and Slam Dinner got a lot of props and praise, and even a couple people said they really liked my voice!
I really hope things with Slam Dinner take off, or at the very least, continue on and progress forward. I think the four of us may really have something.
I need a break from writing this essay, so have a poem/song lyrics
Pick me up by the train tracks. Drive west until the road widens. Don't stop until you see smoke. I fucked up; I lied to myself today, I pretended I didn't see what I thought I did.
It's like trying to fall asleep when you're restless. Count mile markers like sheep. It never works.
It must be the way I operate, Under a false sense of control, Like that blister will go away if you keep trying to pop it. Like the TV will be fixed if you smash a hammer through the screen. But if you have to prove to someone That you can have your way That you can manipulate your destiny Then I guess you're probably wrong.
After all, it's hard to feel hopeless When everyone else knows you already are.
Pick me up by the 12th street parking lot. Drive east until the road narrows. Don't stop until you see those train tracks. I ran away from my problems today, And I could not feel better about myself.

Music music music
I haven’t shared much on here larely, but I guess to recap, I went out east to visit family. That was fairly uneventful, but ever since I got back have been doing but music stuff, which in all honesty is a dream come true.
I played 5 shows with Soap Scum, three of which were in places I haven’t played before. All the shows went well; Chicago’s venue was easily the punkest place to ever play. It was called the Technodrome and was essentially just a wide open 2nd story of a warehouse. There was a toilet seat astray that Brian wore like a necklace while we played. Saint Louis was in a bar with some young punk rockers and Animal Teeth, and Milwaukee was really fucking cold, but Failed Mutation ruled, and their bassist took me and Kowabunga! Kid to a Whole Foods before we played. The two shows at home were both fantastic; new year’s saw fireworks, and two nights ago saw trash cans flying through the air. Classic Soap Scum. Plus Asthma blew me away; way to go guys. Filthwave 2014.
I’ve started work on Slam Dinner’s demo. That should be done within the next two weeks if I can get my damn mic to work.
Meredosia is also recording right before I go back for break. That should be fun; from what I was told, it’s a full-length, with 6 to 9 songs. Soap Scum is recording as well: a cover of Kick Out the Jams for Jake Mott’s first release on his new label Kuloolu Records, a comp of regional bands covering Presidents of the United States of America.
Before I go back to school, I have a show with Meredosia, with Wolf Luv filling in on guitar, and also a solo set. I also will be reading poetry and submitting art for the art show that coincides with the grand opening of Dumb Records, a store I could say I’ve had a small part in helping out with.
Right after 2nd semester begins, Slam Dinner has one more show before going through a complete overhaul in time for another show with Aviator and Our Lady in February.
Also, I think I just joined a band called I’m Dead Inside.
I am a busy bee and I enjoy it.
