omf that makes sense though, i remember that ipod thing she did yonks ago where you could see what artists she listened to and there was soooo much 90s/00s poprock/alternative stuff, Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, Melissa Etheridge, Alanis Morrisette, Meredith Brooks, Plumb, Sheryl Crow, Vanessa Carlton idk man I just remember cos I was like !!!! it's identical to mine!! But omf that would be amazing if she did do that, a progression through musical eras like holy shit

I KNOWWWW!!!!! I’m so excited! And like... the Red era felt culturally like the 60′s and 70′s to me. And the 1989 era felt culturally like the 80′s to me. If this era feels culturally like the 90′s, it’s going to be the best era. Because it’ll be so honest and raw.

See that’s what I’m saying is that it is! It makes so much sense... And if she really did plan this like I think she did when she realized she wanted 1989 to be inspired by 80′s synthpop... woman is a fucking artistic genius. Because literally, she would have gone 70′s, 80′s, 90′s. 

And if this is 90′s grunge rock (it’ll probably spillover to early 2000′s pop rock too tbh), the era that’s going to come from it is really igaf. it’s going to be unapologetic and emotional and strong. Nothing will be polished, it’ll all be laid out there for the world to see. Just like her voice was lower during the Red era while (probably unconsciously) promoting the hippie chill vibe of Joni Mitchell, and her posture was the best it’s ever been in the 1989 era while (probably unconsciously) promoting the shiny polished perfect vibe of the 80′s synthpop icons, this era will be laid back, relaxed, and conversational.
