So 800 years ago the Shandians fought against the world government to prevent them from erasing the history they would write down on the poneglyffs, right?
Look, I cannot say that these are the best chapters ever because I'd be lying.
But now, years and years later, on my third reread, I understand that the point of Skypea was never the fights and individual strength development.
This arc lays the foundations for the whole story that is to come, lore-wise this is definitely the most important arc: we get to know about the void century, about poneglyphs and Joyboy. The fights were never a central part of it, I feel like Oda had to include them because at the end of the day, it's a Shonen. But in the way the fights were rushed in this volume, lasting barely a few pages each, you can tell that they actually were the side story in this instance
Whoever said that One Piece is apolitical has definitely skipped Skypea because HOLY SHIT
I am having feelings ...

Skypiea vibes ☁️
When I started watching one peice I started this game with my friends were we would called out percentages whenever the crew got split up to explain each subgroups distribution of "the brain cell"
It wants Nami has the brain cell, it's "zoro 30%, usope 60%, luffy 10%.
Or
Nami 60%, sanji 40%
Or
Cooper 46%, Robin 54%
And then then crew would redistribute and suddenly sanji would have 80% of the brain cell and luffy would have 20%. And zoro might have 5% of the brain and that random bird might have the other 95%
It's brain cell is more like electoron in a shell orbit, we can predict the chances of who has it at any given second but we might be wrong
