Anakin Skywalker / Ferus Olin

General in-universe headcanons I have for them from being padawans to knights.

Headcanons will be under the cut but quick disclaimer: I have not interacted with this ship since February (2026) and I don't intend to again after this lol. I wrote skylin fics from 2021-2026 and have 20 fics to my name in the ao3 tag. I never felt like there was any community in skylin for me and did it out of my enjoyment of the ship which has dwindled greatly. Ik you probably don't care to hear my spindle poor anon, but it needed to be said at some point and this gave me the chance to.

New Tide, Now Beginning

Pairing: Ferus Olin/Anakin Skywalker

Warning: OOC, unrealistic probably, maybe boring

1. In my delulu version of canon (which exists separately from Lucas's canon, eu books and common sense), Ferus and Anakin did date for a while and broke up before the mission to Korriban.

Perhaps in this AU, Anakin despaired about Padmé (he has such tendency), maybe because 19 and 24 feel different than 15 and 20, so he was able to allow himself to fall in love with Ferus and act on his feelings. He would likely still be plagued by thoughts of Padmé, and he would have let these emotions out in petty arguments with Ferus.

2. Ferus tries very hard to be gentle and reliable in relationships! After all, he's used to being perfect in everything and he cares about Anakin. (He's still a silly stubborn autistic guy).

He agrees to relationship with Anakin because Anakin made it clear he can't live without it right now (maybe because of bad mental state) and Ferus now has enough empathy to understand that judgment will make everything worse. Perhaps Ferus would discuss everything with Siri, and she would allow it to happen because she sees how Ferus lacks life experience, mistakes and human connection. She would tell him to come to her to discuss every possible attachment issue. Ally mom who doesn't want to cause pain she once felt. I see this as a parallel to Obi-Wan knowing about Anakin and Padmé!

In the modern!AU, it's easier for Ferus because he doesn't have to worry about breaking the Code.

3. Awkward kisses in the corners of the Temple because Anakin can't restrain himself.

4. Ferus is initially shy and unsure how to act, but eventually reveals himself as a gentle dominant in the relationship. (This is still awkward because they are a mess).

5. If Anakin is transmasc, he has a hard time accepting his crush on Ferus because he mistakenly believes it makes him less masculine. Furthermore, he tries even harder to take the lead. (He hasn't yet realized it's not a competition.)

6. Ferus's favorite moments are when Anakin is being sincere with him and doesn't afraid to be weak. This is a long way, but I think trust between them is possible!

But that's not the point of the LotJ. In the process of studying Vader's birth, Ferus realizes he was wrong, and that Anakin's fall wasn't caused by his big scary natural inner darkness, but by a complex tragedy. Therefore, he forgives him and believes there's light somewhere inside of him.

Obi-Wan was right when he explained to young Ferus that Anakin had his reasons for being weird, he was acting as a good master/parent (JQ), and he wasn't entirely right when he agreed with Ferus after the RotS. But Obi-Wan was in a serious crisis and didn't know the context of Anakin's fall, so let's forgive him for that.
