This dagger in time came to possess attributes I ascribe to Algol, though not consecrated to her; a mirror in tellurian-black obsidian, and meteoric iron — both conceived in moments of ineffable and acute cosmic violence. The iron meteorite potentially formed billions of years ago when a dying star first imploded and subsequently exploded, hurling the newborn element into the void until it collided with earth in what is now Argentina. The obsidian is native to the mountains here in southern idaho and formed over 18,000 years ago when a large magma flow issued from a fissure between tectonic plates, rapidly cooling upon meeting the waters of a massive paleolake.
