Jacobsen was a Modernist pioneer in Dansih architecture, as witnessed by his own Functionalist house in Charlottenlund, Copenhagen from 1929. He also designed a beautiful gas station a bit up the coast in Skovshoved in 1936.
The final image shows three of his iconic chairs (The Drop, The Egg, and The Swan) - created for the SAS Royal Hotel across from the Copenhagen Central Station. You can see the hotel, which is Arne Jacobsen’s chief Gesamtkunstwerk (1958-60) in the b&w photo behind the chairs. If you stay at the hotel, ask for Room 606 which is fullt preserved in the original style with all the furnishings.
