one thing I’ve dreamed about doing for a while is to write or play worship songs that actually feel cathartic and not the manufactured emotion (okay kill me for it, no one except maybe fanny may crosby is actually that grateful to God all the time they’re all just trying to convince themselves they are) and just. I was listening to the mytt version of shes kinda hot and of course I’m not that stupidly ambitious but it’s like. it’s an anthem. the new broken scene. we feel it, we feel seen, it makes us want to do something so people like us feel their worth and its performance is just perfect because the crowd is fully participating and it was written exactly for that! and then I go back to my same old worship songs (okay cityalight is alright because they’re from sydney too but otherwise) and it makes me wonder. what are we all holding back? what do we want to feel, those of us who are all here for a common reason, a reason that things like social justice and also being personally seen are actually big parts of. and idk, when I listen to skh I feel like I could write something. pop punk worship kinda vibe, God knows we need more opportunities to explore religion for misfit youth than we have
