my chicken @courtnuggetscribe did this on their blog the other day (http://www.courtnuggetscribe.com/ its amazing and i am a frequent reader tbh) and i wanted to give it a go!!! :’) so here’s the ‘all hallows writes’ tag for my WIP Bloom!

The Rules:

#1 – Provide a BRIEF description of your novel before starting. “Bloom” is the story of revenge, retribution, and recovery when CSA survivor Lily finds out that her abuser, and father, is being tried for sexually abusing someone else.

#2 – Don’t use the same character for more than 3 answers!

The Questions:

It’s Halloween night! What is your protagonist dressed up as? Lily would need some serious convincing to dress up for Halloween; she doesn’t like parties and is too old to trick or treat, so she wouldn’t see the point - and plus, she just probably wouldn’t care; she’d much rather stay in her room and do... “research” or work with Jin. however if she were to dress up, she would go as Allison Argent from Teen Wolf, or something similar because she already has a bow and arrow :D

Who in your cast refuses to dress up and shows up at the Halloween party without a costume? I’d say Lily, because of the aforementioned reasons haha, but Dr. Sasaki wouldn’t dress up either. she’d probably come to the party straight from work, have a glass of wine, and then go home to watch Netflix. 

Which character wears the most outrageous costume, and what would it be?   DAKOTA oh my god, they are the most extra little peanut. they love Halloween and would have a secret Pinterest board dedicated to costume ideas, that they have been saving ideas to since... July. they would find any reason they could to wear more than one costume too, crashing as many parties on campus as they could and finding an excuse to go trick or treating. one of their costumes would Draco Malfoy, just because they would want an excuse to dye their hair again. they would also dress up as the Demogorgon, because. extra. 

On Halloween, werewolves, vampires, and zombies are on the prowl. Which of your characters get caught in their clutches, and which creature do they subsequently turn into? Jin, the poor baby haha he’s just so Soft and always finds a way to see the best in people. even werewolves and vampires lol

Who wins the contest for best costume? Monica and Cici (Lily’s moms) would have the cutest couple costume, as they do every year, and Dakota would riot because they spent days trying to become the Demogorgon and they should’ve won

Who hands out toothbrushes to the trick and treaters? either Dr. Sasaki because she forgot it was Halloween and had nothing else to give the kiddos, or Jin’s parents because this holiday is a dentist’s worst nightmare (and Jin’s dad is actually a dentist)

Which two of your characters decide to pair up and do an angel/devil costume together? Dakota and Lily, with Dakota as the devil and Lily as the angel. they probably did this when they were younger and trick or treating together :’) 

Someone is too scared to even attend the Halloween party. Who is it? Jin’s younger brother (currently unnamed) - he’s afraid of everything but especially really scary stuff, like parties and people.

Who overdoses on Halloween candy and ends up sick? Monica (Lily’s bio mom); she’s got quite the sweet tooth and she’s a stress eater. best of both worlds lol.

Which character is most likely to place a curse/hex on someone and who would they curse? Lily would absolutely hex her father. because reasons.

I have been given the amazing honor of beta-reading Flame in The Wind, a fantasy novel by the wonderful @skasse. These characters--Synnove and Nerina, from left to right--are from her book. They’re best friends and they’re great. I love them. 

people really do not appreciate the ship that was jack sparrow/anamaria. i mean, johnny depp and zoe saldana!? i was so on board with that! then the films gave us nothing. anamaria tells jack sparrow “the black pearl is yours…” and then nothing. NOTHING. needless to say, i wasn’t happy about that. but since i don’t even watch those movies anymore i’m not upset now, lol.

i feel like one of the most overrated ships would have to be sirius/remus from harry potter. god, i used to hate that pairing a lot. i never understood why it was so popular and considering that james and sirius were the closest of the two you’d think… but nah. anyway, i’m kind of glad that they didn’t ~secretly~ date each other in the series because the people that did ship it would have been insufferable about it. lol.

Rowan is a normal girl with normal ambitions who get swept into a magical trap because she happened to be in the right place at the wrong time. Luckily she’s trapped with very powerful Conductors, unluckily she’ll have to save them instead of the other way around.

It’s Halloween night! What is your protagonist dressed up as?

Rowan would happily let Cherise choose a doubles costume for them, though she’d go for the more modest version when Cherise decides they should be sexy witches.

Who in your cast refuses to dress up and shows up at the Halloween party without a costume?

Remmi. He isn’t a stick in the mud, he just didn’t want to come in the first place and will not be bothered.

Which character wears the most outrageous costume, and what would it be?  

Miirai would put in extra effort to make sure hers was the most dashing, extra costume at the party. Something that would make both Lady Gaga and Tuxedo Mask proud.

On Halloween, werewolves, vampires, and zombies are on the prowl. Which of your characters gets caught in their clutches, and which creature do they subsequently turn into?  

Aan is the type who would stay behind to fight to allow everyone else to escape and thus would definitely get scratched by a werewolf or bitten by a zombie. It’d be sad, but they’d keep him around even if he was undead.

On the other hand, Zet would be easily enticed by a vampire. 

Who wins the contest for best costume?

Once again I’d sure it would be Miirai for the reasons stated before.

Who hands out toothbrushes to the trick and treaters?

Rowan’s father. They’re hand crafted and he worked hard, but he didn’t understand this was supposed to be about candy.

Which two of your characters decide to pair up and do an angel/devil costume together?

Kezzie would want to do this with Remmi, but since Remmi wouldn’t dress up he would show up as just the devil half and insist that Remmi is the angel half of the relationship always and simply didn’t need a costume.

Rowan would also do this with Cherise if she wanted and would end up as the angel so Cherise could do a poofy skirt with cute sparkle horns and a matching tail.

Someone is too scared to even attend the Halloween party. Who is it?

I’m going to choose Rowan’s dad again. He isn’t scared of the party of or dressing up, just of being around all those Conductors.

Who overdoses on Halloween candy and ends up sick?

Rowan. She likes sweets and would use them as a way of getting out of talking with people too much and before you know it she would be ill from the hundreds of pieces of candy she’s been gorging on all night long.

Which character is most likely to place a curse/hex on someone and who would they curse?

Kezzie. He cursed Rowan to eat all that candy and he is never going to fess up to it.

there are some parts of history that are so intriguing to me. i would actually be the type of person who would go back in time if i got the chance.
