Mini Potstickers, 2045 Irving St, San Francisco (Outer Sunset), CA 94122
I usually love Chinese restaurants like Mini Potstickers: humble, fresh, authentic. You can see the ladies in the window wrapping dumplings and racks of steamed baos. Order at the self-service kiosk for to go orders. For dine-in, they’ll take your order.
The menu includes several kinds of dumplings, pancakes, soy milk, XLBs, SJBs, noodles, cold dishes, and wontons.
Mini potstickers (12 pieces, $12.99): These are mini SJB. The skins are thicker and the dumplings were juicy (not as juicy as XLBs though). The ground pork filling was tasty and not too salty. The bottoms were slightly crispy. Love how they were dusted with sesame seeds and topped with fresh scallions. The two sauces were very good too: a chili crisp and a sweet soy.
Soy milk ($2.50): I appreciated that it was unsweetened but it barely had any soy flavor. Maybe it was watered down. I’ve never had such bland soy milk.
The interior looks older and no frills. They opened over two years ago, but the grand opening sign is still hanging. So typical for Chinese restaurants. Frozen dumplings are also available.
The dumplings are so good, but the soy milk was so terrible.
