What does Ethan think about Hypnos, does he sometimes wish he had another god for a parent?

When Ethan found out about Hypnos being his father from his mother, after heâd put Matthew in a coma, he... more or less threw a fit. Irrational and throwing things because heâd just found out his mother cheated on his father ( only in name on the birth certificate ) with a Greek god, and cheating is one of the worst things a person can do, and heâd put his mother on a pedestal before all this came out -- had thought all his powers had come from her, the dreams and the nightmares and such, when in fact they came from Hypnos. Naomi was better than Matthew in every single conceivable way, in Ethanâs head, and his own ancestry, differing from what he thought it was, proved otherwise.
So heâs not off to a great start already.
That said, even with his faith in his mother shaken, he still loves her dearly, and does not want to leave her or his sister Dinah, even fighting and clinging to Naomi when she tried ( and succeeded ) to get him sent off to the Camp Half Blood, packing him up with clothes and a letter in an envelope saying how much she loves him and to be the best kind of person he can be, regardless of powers from either parent, and the allure of such power. When he does reach the camp, he tries not to think too much about Hypnos, still bitter about the circumstances of his birth, more so about how it puts Naomi in a position of being untrustworthy.
It takes him a while to acclimate, especially as heâs now removed from his family and friends that he knew, and now with other demigods he doesnât even know; heâs semi-reclusive, the apparently only claimed child of Hypnos, and tends to induce a sleepiness in others if they come by the cabin, or come near him ( although the latter situation is less potent ).
After a while ( and during the rare times heâs able to sleep peacefully and fully ), he contacts Hypnos in dreams, to ask why his mother, and why does he suffer from disordered sleep, that seems rather a cruel joke, the dyslexia and ADHD was bad enough, but câmon? Ethan was awake the next instant. The next night, Ethan invades through dreams, and asks again -- one would think he would be more polite, but no. Even more brusque than before. The answer to the first question, which is the only answer Hypnos could give, is that he liked Naomi enough, had maybe-loved her, and thought her to be very interesting, especially as she wasnât human herself. Ethan wasnât particularly impressed, but decided that would do. And at least Hypnos didnât have a stick up his ass, something Ethan could console himself with.
These days, he is thankful in a roundabout sort of way, for having what heâs been blessed with from both of his parents. Having glanced at most of the other godâs kids -- heâs decided that Hypnos is a fair fit, even though he still struggles with sleeping himself ( insomnia in late spring and summer, sleepwalking and night terrors in late autumn and winter, only having full sleep on the spring and autumn equinox ). He does still sometimes wonder about how different heâd be with a different parent -- Hades, for example, because all his kids seem to have pretty cool powers, to be honest -- but he is, at best and at worst, content and at peace with having Hypnos as his parent, despite missing his mother a lot, and despite the letters she sends him with all the new from home. That said, he more than likely wonât ever feel comfortable with Hypnos, nor the other connected gods he sometimes talks to in his dreams ( but never fully remembers ).
