The Double-Headed Eagle Stupa in Taxila, Punjab, Pakistan
The stupa was built sometime between 30 BC and 80 AD. It is found among the ruins of the ancient city of Sirkap in the Taxila archeological site. Sirkap was an Indo-Greek city that was founded around 180 BC by King Demetrius I of Bactria after he invaded parts of what are now Afghanistan, Pakistan and northern India.
