Sometimes I’m torn between wanting to see Pikachu only get used when it REALLY counts like Mega Lucario, and being happy seeing Ash be all “You already KNOW I’m starting out the first gym with you bruh!!” (like vs Viola) I’m really glad with how they’ve handled Pikachu ever since Mega Luke though. The new guys have definitely gotten their times to shine. Maybe Pikachu starring in gyms 1 and 2 was build up for setting him up as a beast for new viewers, for Ash VS Korrina. I used to make this theory a lot as sort of wishful thinking back in the day, but it seems like it might’ve actually been the case. Call me the prophet~

I actually think this fits for some reason, it makes me think of a chill but badass fight. Just going fucking ham with no ill feelings, against someone who’s not really a main rival warranting some grand symphony but still cool to face.

Then ironically we can go with this theme, because it sounds more actiony.
