Him saying "if you're alive, Strade won't hurt me" is mostly just his way of rationalizing things. I think he's still helping us because of selfless reasons. In the endings where he's forced to hurt and kill us, he's clearly remorseful. He even cries.

It makes sense for him to challenge the idea of change when you bring up running away from Strade together. Ren wants to be free of Strade deep down, but he's also got learned helplessness problems and is bound to get/already have Stockholm Syndrome. Plus, he only just met us.

I do not think Ren is all bad, he can end up that way in the bad timelines, but it's all up to the player to redeem him. I love him so much and I wanna see him get better.

Strade: Fairly good, though he mostly only kisses someone out of lust rather than actual love. There's definitely gonna be tongue involved. He might even make Ren and MC give him a 'welcome home' kiss when he comes home from going out due to Strade seeing himself as the man of the house. He most likely also doesn't wait for someone to kiss him back, and he'll bite your lower lip hard.

Ren: BEST KISSER. Definitely practices with a body pillow but only because he wants the kiss to be perfect. Soft and sweet and definitely savoring the moment

Lawrence: Probably doesn't even know what a kiss is lol

Derek: Kinda same as Strade: mostly out of lust but more forceful

Celia: Very good at kissing. Soft and sensual, little bit of tongue involved. She might even leave lipstick marks on your face.

I'm not wrong for thinking this way, am I? I love all versions of Ren just as much as I love the sweet version.

But the whole multiverse thing makes me feel so much better and it helped me make a whole AU where he gets better. I wanna see him get better. I love him so much. When I see him, I see me.

And there's evidence in the games that he's not unable to be saved!
