Siniscola (Sardinia). New trips to Sardinia. Santa Lucia: tower (1605). Following my travels in Sardinia we will have the opportunity to see many coastal watchtowers built mainly during the Spanish occupation (which preceded the Italiota one - 1720). This is that of Santa Lucia, 10 meters high and 11 wide, with a truncated cone shape, which is the prevailing one. The overall project, carried out in part, included towers along the entire Sardinian coast, spaced - taking into account the territory - a few kilometers from each other, so that there could be communication by means of light signals. The function of the towers was mainly Saracen anti-piracy. The Moors attacked Siniscola in 1514, killing over a dozen people and making over 100 slaves of them. Turkish piracy in the Mediterranean was a great disaster for a long time for the Sardinian populations. #light #overall #shape #following #siniscola #santalucia #sardinia #baronia #tower #opportunity #coastal #spanish #main #project #account #communication #meangirls #coast #travel #traveling #visiting #instatravel #travelling #tourism #instatraveling #travelgram #travelingram #massimopistis #sovVERSIvi #estremisti Information for the purchase of my new book "Estremisti!": the book at a cost of 12.00 euros (120 pages), can be ordered in bookstores (ISBN 978-88-591-5719-9 - Publisher Aletti) or online on the page http://www.alettieditore.it/emersi/2019/pistis.html from the link below. https://www.instagram.com/p/CPMCnE4FO3H/?utm_medium=tumblr
