My day off! Normally we are not allowed a Day OffTM but in the case of dry dock- because the work conditions are so miserable and we aren’t doing any huge projects we get a day off!
We started the day by sleeping in. Perhaps the nicest thing that has ever happened. Then we went on a Tree Top Walk at the Central Catchement nature reserve. We took a bus to the Venus Drive parking lot as we knew we wouldn’t want to go on too long of a hike in that heat ( humidity)
So we headed down the path towards the tree top walk. It was so nice to be among all the green trees and oxygen! After spending 4 solid days in some sort of mask it was a relief to breathe clean air
It was also about 100000000% Humidity and we were basically swimming through the forest.
After walking up a very large hill we arrived at the tree top suspension bridge.
It is exactly as advertised: a bridge over the tops of trees. It was very high up and you had to walk single file.
The views were beautiful!
It was an interesting way to look at the trees that you don’t normally see
And it was a tiny bit cooler with a breeze up there.
The bridge is a lot shorter than I imagined it would be which was, admittedly a little disappointing, but it’s free so that’s fine.
After the long hike we went home to take a nap. But first a shower.
