#SingleMaltSaturday with #HighlandPark. 18 yr is one of the best value age stated malts on the market. I can usually find it under $120. For me that's under special occasions, but a little pricey for a rotation sipper. You are getting value here. This is a lovely sherry monster with whisps of Peat smoke and an ultra complex palate. I always keep a backup around, and with #SingleMalt prices soaring, I may hold a few extra back. For me this is a must buy. It's a non traditional bottle shape but don't let that fool you for a second. #SingleMaltSaturday having a little night cap with #Lagavulin #LimitedEdition 8yr. This is an incredibly enjoyable #Islay. The color is murky water. It's smells like fresh asphalt but there is some subtle sweetness from ripe green apples and apricots there. This is a totally different animal from 12yr cask strength or the 16yr. This 8yr is perfectly balanced. It's not overly peated, and it's everything I love in an Islay whiskey. Those sweet green fruits hit you on first sip but are quickly chased by smoked fish. Yes, this whisky is a bit meaty in the follow through. There is another whisp of smoke as this eight year asserts itself at 48% abv. My only gripe is how smooth it is, especially at the higher abv. If you are a novice peated whisky drinker, this is a great place to start. Nonetheless it is put together perfectly. Well done Lagavulin. You guys have a winner here. #SingleMaltSaturday with the @usmacallan. #Edition2 is everything I love about #Macallan, red fruits, clove, chocolate sweet shop, citrus, and, vanilla, but at 48.2% #abv, they've turned the volume up to exactly where I like it. This #Edition is a #SherryBomb and takes home two #trophies in #2016WhiskyAwards. This is both #2016SingleMaltScotchWhiskyOfTheYear and #2016WorldWhiskyOfTheYear. If you love #SherryMatured Whisky, absolutely get out there and #BuyIt. I know it's #SingleMaltSaturday but with the recent #ElliottsSelect from @fourrosesbourbon I find myself in a pickle. I have never met Brent. In my limited time enjoying 4roses, it's only been Jim Rutledge. I'm sure I will get around to the newer releases, and I know Elliott has been there the whole time, but I don't like change.
