Actor Celebrity AU:

Career:

Allura- Actress, Singer, Director, Producer, Model. She’s the hottest thing in Hollywood, next to Shiro and Lance.

Shiro- Actor, YouTuber, War Veteran. He’s also a major icon for the LGBTQ+ community for his incredible gayness.

Lance- Singer, Songwriter, Actor, Director, YouTuber, LGBTQ+ Icon, Model. He’s a bit of a jack of all trades but master of none. Which, come on, that’s his entire personality. 

Keith- Actor, LGBTQ+ Icon, Model. As famous as he is, he’s probably THE most mysterious person in Hollywood for the sheer amount of his life being unknown. It makes him that much more famous, because everybody loves mysterious guys.

Pidge- Director, Actress, YouTuber. She has like five different youtube channels. She’s probably the largest internet sensation in the world.

Hunk- Chef, Actor, YouTuber. He’s America’s sweetheart because duh. Huge supporter for LGBTQ+.

Coran- Director, Fashion Designer, War Veteran. Everyone loves him, but no one is sure if his stories are true or not, seeing as everything he talks about is technically a classified kind of thing.

Side characters:

Romelle- Rising Pop Star, Model, Fashion Designer.

Krolia- Fight Scene Coordinator.

Matt- Comedian, YouTuber, LGBTQ+ Icon.

Shay- Costume Designer.

Ships:

Hunay- Obviously, because they are literally the most wholesome of all Voltron ships. They meet on set for Hunk’s first acting gig.

Klance- Because I can’t help myself. They Meet Ugly, then end up being cast as protagonists in a new live action sci- fi show, Voltron. They hate each for like, pretty much half the story, because yeah.

Broganes- Because reasons. Keith and Lance both had crushes on him when they were younger. Since Shiro was pretty much Keith’s sole sponsor, they became like brothers. 

Details and Background Overview:

Allura- Named the queen of Hollywood five times in a row without even trying too. Her father was a director, which is how she was introduced to the industry. Everybody loves her.

Shiro- Practically raised as a star. Child actor, then joined the military at 18, then continued his Hollywood career when he was honorably discharged due to injury. Favorite hobby is freaking people out when he takes off his prosthetic. 

Lance- Grew up in Cuba, started his career as a child actor in a Telenovela. Also a pretty popular Latino singer. Moved to America when he turned 18 to start his Hollywood career. His accent is well disguised nowadays, but it definitely slips out when he gets excited.

Keith- Appeared in Hollywood like some sort of Cryptid. One minute he didn’t exist, the next he’s a huge actor sponsored by THE Takashi Shirogane. He’s so secretive and stoic that people crave to know more about him. 

Pidge- Child actress, but she truly rose up in the world due to her youtube channel. She often has famous guest stars including but not limited to: Her brother, Matthew Holt, Lance McClain, and Allura Altea.

Hunk- Like I said before, he’s America’s sweetheart. He grew up in Samoa, became a locally famous chef and opened his own restaurant by the time he was sixteen. Caught the eyes of another famous chef, who brought him to America to share his talent. Scouted for a minor acting role when he was in his twenties, which is where he met Lance for the first time. 

Coran- War veteran, honorably discharged for old age, then was hired by his old friend Alfor. There he shot through the industry as a Director and Fashion Designer. His productions are infamous for being outside the box no matter the genre, even cheesy Rom Coms.

The following week Lance was officially offered an hour spot in the coffee shop’s weekly Friday nights event. He was over the moon and got Hunk to help him plan out all the songs he would play. When he gets to the shop on Friday, the coffeeshop is completely packed. Hunk says that they had to rent extra tables and chairs for the night and that the huge crowd is due to Lance’s performance. Lance gets a little nervous, and it doesn’t help that he’ll be the closing performance for the night. Hunk on the other hand has the perfect solution, cause he saved Lance a spot at table next to the guy that was gushing over him last week. The guy is immediately flustered to have the cute musician next to him, but after he sees that Lance is nervous he musters enough courage to tell Lance how great his singing is. They end up talking right up to the moment that Lance gets called up.

When Lance gets up to the microphone he says “I’d like to dedicate this first song to the great guy that forgot to tell me his name, but told me I sound like an angel for almost 2 hours. Let’s see if you can pass ‘The Quiz.’” Lance starts singing this quirky song and part of him is doing this just to tease the guy and get the crowd going. But in reality he is a bit worried about how perfect the guy is, and there is no way in hell that someone like that guy would fall for him. He is really enjoying himself on the stage and he is just smiling cause this song is the last one he imagine he’d be singing. As the show goes on he forgets about the hot stranger and how he basically made a fool of himself choosing that song, cause really there were a million cute song he could have picked.Meanwhile, the guy is sitting at his table blushing up to his ears and he can hear Lance’s insecurities through the music, but he is sure that Lance the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with.

Summary: The music industry is cutthroat, that's for sure. Two very talented young men -Lance Martínez and Keith Kim- have been switching between each other at the #1 spot on the International Billboards since day one of their individual careers. Now there's talk of their English singles debuting at the same time. The fans are at each other's throats over this solo artist rivalry aka Pretty Girls vs. The Gold Mine. But then they meet face to face, and diss tracks aren't the only things flying off the shelves into the hands of fans. But maybe sparks as well?

This is a fairly new fic (was just published yesterday), but you guys have to read this!

It is a modern AU set in the music industry and it’s about Keith - a Korean rapper - and Lance - a Latin American singer. They’re both famous in their own circles and their English single debut being released at around the same time is the premise for their rivalry.

But guys, all that set aside, the way this was written is inspiring to me. Barring the fact it has Korean text in it to depict the conversation spoken between two people, they actually wrote an original Spanish song for Lance. Like guys, the dedication for this fic is really warming me and it’s just well, as stated before, inspiring.

Write what you want and have fun with it. Take the risks you want to take and be proud of yourself for taking them.
