Veliona: The End, same age as Seele, Seele's protector, can only interact with the world through Seele's body, more defensive than Seele, louder, not afraid of confrontation, likes to piss of Sin Mal, fond of Bronya

Seele: The End, 16 years old, was rescued by Cocolia and taken into the orphanage at 4, Cocolia's favorite, very quiet, very shy and very scared, Cocolia is very protective of her, tries to avoid conflict, has no memory of her family or her life before Cocolia has taken her in, discovered Veliona in her mind at 13, was originally scared of Veliona but now they get along, is the only one that can see Veliona outside of her body

Bronya: The Hunt, 16 years old, father died before she was born, mother died during childbirth, had to raise herself, was taken in by Cocolia when she was 13, Seele's other protector, very fond of Seele, very fond of Veliona, ex child-soldier, also known as "The Silverwolf of the Urals", Cocolia sometimes sends her on "missions" where she takes out the people that wronged Cocolia / her "children", refers to herself usually in third-person ("The Bronya"), got injured during one of the missions and had issues with her legs ever since (Cocolia spend a good amount of money on experimental tech to fix it)

Sin Mal: The Slaughter, The Spiral, 15 years old, parents died when she was still young, no one in her family bothered to take care of her so she was left in her parents abandoned home, Bronya found her during one of Cocolia's "missions", had been marked by the spiral ever since her parents died, anger issues, violent outbursts, doesn't get along with Veliona, tries hard to prove herself to people but without much success, over achiever, gets angry when she's not the best, haunted by strange figures in her nightmares

leaning more into Sin Mal's ggz / hg2 stories that I've read abt bcs it fits so well into this AU

personally i find her so, so difficult to like when i read azure waters, just due to the way she hurts seele

and then i read the sin origin manga [it's on mangadex, here: https://mangadex.org/chapter/dc2f5449-7043-46e0-8fdd-9f42ba289f4a/1] and i love her again

Sin is definitely a complicated character. From what I understand she actually wants Bronya to acknowledge her, and for her usefulness to Cocolia to give her purpose. And I think it's rather compelling to have a girl who's trauma causes her desire for recognition/love from someone like Bronya to manifest in anger and physical violence against anything she deems as threatening her chances of getting that, even if said violence is against the very person she's fixated on like when she breaks Bronya's legs in Azure Waters.

A desire to feel human and have that control she was sorely missing before she killed her family leading to her assaulting Seele to see why Bronya loves her so much, an effort to see why she appears to be so unlovable and despised by the one person she wants, that- once again- manifests in the only way she knows how to exert that control: Violence. I don't know all that happens with her character growth in GGZ yet but it looks like she did manage to grow and heal to some degree since I see people talking about how she became a throuple with BronSeele in GGZ (Before she and Seele got deleted by the Will of Honkai RIP) and the TL note at the end of that manga about how later on Sin stops thinking in terms of whether she's human enough or not and decides that she just needs to be "Sin". Herself.
