If you're going to tempt me to drop some headcanons....

Headcanon for Seele and Vel is that Vel knows how to play chess really well because she was given that, among the other blueprints and weapons of the previous era. Eventually Seele picked it up, and everyone's kind of confused about where she learned it from. (While stuck in Sea of Quanta)

For Kiaseele, Seele is a pretty good cook, so you can see where this might be going. Seele's cooking has the essence of 'home' to the rest of the orphanage kids like Bronya, Roza, Lili, so something about it is familiar to Kiana. It's probably love lol. Love and care. Treated like a human being first. Food is an primal need for living beings. Cooking for Kiana just connects the dots between those ideas.

You know what, I bet Vel never actually properly tasted Seele's food. If she does cook, Vel is probably not out and about, and they probably wouldn't have switched just to do some taste testing. At least, back then.

uhhh my foggy brain has all but one(1) solid hc for seeliona at the moment, not as wholesome, a bit yucky even- unless youre looking at it from veliona’s perspective, of course.
