It was every teenager’s worst nightmare. Lady Grace broke out in pimples the night before the big dance.

“Why me?!” she groaned while she desperately rubbed acne cream on the affected areas.

She was supposed to be presented to the public as a debutante tomorrow night. Other families like hers would be there looking for wives for their sons and she wasn’t delusional; she knew perfectly well that there would be plenty of wealthier, more beautiful girls lined up next to her. Her only advantage was her title; a marchioness was only one rank below a duchess and she doubted there would be any duchesses at this ball. There was a good chance she’d be the highest ranking noblewoman there.

But I’ll still be the ugliest noblewoman there and a face full of pimples isn’t going to help matters, she thought dismally to herself.

In the beggining of the years, angels and demons had reached a treaty; If the sinful souls did not recover their purity, the demons would take with them the soul. Until the angels broke their treaty, and thus managed to recover some innocent souls who had been deceived by the corrupted. From that moment, the war ended for humans, but the war began for the mythical beings.
