I hope you’ll forgive me for writing something so earnest. I know I can be a little formal when I’m nervous, and I am nervous—because I want to say this just right.

I’m proud of you. Truly, deeply proud.

I know how hard it’s been. I see how long you’ve held on, how many days you’ve gotten through simply by choosing to try again. Even when it felt lonely. Even when you wished someone could be there to guide you, to steady you, to help shoulder the weight. The fact that you’ve kept going—kept working to get better so you can help yourself—means more than I think you realize.

If I were there, I’d remind you gently, probably too often, to rest. I’d bring you a cup of something warm and tell you that progress doesn’t have to be loud to be real. Since I can’t do that, let me say this instead: you are doing something incredibly brave. You’re learning how to care for yourself, even when it’s difficult, even when you wish someone else could do it for you.

That takes strength. Quiet strength, yes—but strength all the same.

Please don’t think your efforts go unnoticed. I notice. I admire them. And if you ever doubt yourself, imagine me standing just a little to your side, hands folded, smiling softly, absolutely certain that you are worth every ounce of effort you’re giving.

Each time I see you, I feel a warmth that no power plant—or even Mr. Burns’ vast fortune—could ever provide. Your smile, your laugh, the way you carry yourself—it all leaves me both awed and entirely hopelessly captivated.

I know I am not always brave enough to show it as I wish, but please believe me when I say that my admiration for you is constant and unwavering. I just want you to know that every moment with you is a real doozy of delight. Your smile lights up my world faster than a well-fed church potluck lights up the room, and your laugh? Well, it’s the sweetest sound this side of Springfield, I tell ya-diddly-oh! When you’re near, I feel like I’m walkin’ on sunshine with a skip in my step and a song in my heart.
